In My Acer LCD X173W,Appears Coloured lines on the right side.

Look "underneath" the bottom-centre of the display.
Look for a "silver" coloured button at bottom-right of the face.
Look for a "rocker" switch along the right-side edge.

Hi. If you have a video card, try removing and reseating it then see if the lines come back...

It if does, then there's a problem with it and needs either replacement or repair...

LCD suffer from wear and tear just like anything else. LCD can simply fail. Also heavy impact or applying to much pressure to the screen and damage the capacitors and transistors that control display of color on the screen.

Lines can form when adjacent pixels are damaged and sorta of join together this way ll or multiple pixels are recieving a voltage in either a horizontal or vertical line or even in a bing blob on your screen.

If you are developing lines on your screen you will need to get it replaced or replace it yourself if you can, as screens tend to be several hundred dollars just for the part

The buttons on the monitor are used for this.
With computer and monitor powered ON, press the [menu] button on the monitor.
use the on-screen labels to guide you. Press the button labeled <-> to adjust width, press the ^ v labeled button to adjust height, etc.
Press the [menu] button to exit.

You either have extremely screwy drivers, a bad cable or your monitor/panel is shot. Replace any of the above to resolve the issue.

The issue is you system, download memtest86 and run it from disk if you get any error your ram is bad or it my be the program you are using try uninstalling it and reinstalling it

It sounds more video card/driver/settings related.

Try setting the resolution to 1024x768 intially. It may help to find the optimal resolution settings for that monitor. Max resolution on it seems to be 1280 x 1024 / 75.0 Hz.

Still seeing double? Try updating your video card drivers.

I suggest you post your problem on the following forum. It appears they have active participants and they'd be more apt to have heard or had this problem before.

Quickly go to the Acer website and check FAQ's and while there also find out how to get an RMA to return it. My guess is you have a bad monitor. At $200 roughly for a replacement I would hustle. I am assuming you got nothing but a white screen but did get video on your TV.
