Hey,

I know someone who had the same error as well recently, and he e-mailed NDS-Gear about it (no particular reason except he bought his card from there). I think loads of people were getting this problem in the last few days, and there's a big blog post about it on R4DSRevolution (the info site) here:

http://www.r4dsrevolution.co.uk/r4i-system-date-error-problem-freeze

Also a less detailed one on the NDS-Gear site:

http://www.nds-gear.co.uk/blog/2010/04/r4i-sdhc-system-date-freeze-problem/

It looks like, amusingly, the genuine cards are more affected than the fakes! Although still be careful of the "R4 Upgrade" or "R4 Ultra" series of cards, since I'm not sure if the same fix for the problem works for the cloned versions of the R4. Anyway, hope the blog link helps!

When I put my game in the ds "system date error

it is possible that the date recorded on the save in your game is different from that on the ds. check the date and time in your ds settings and correct them if necessary. do not have a cartridge in the slot when you try this.

When turning nintendo ds lite on it comes up with this message System date error! Please check NDS system date.

it is just an eol (End Of Live) in the software of your ds card.
Plug out your ds and remove your r4 card.
Plug on your ds and change the date to 2009.
Plug out your ds and insert your r4 cart.
Plug on your ds and you can play again.
Now there wil be new software on the internet who is an update on the old software, so if you want to renew your software ist there on the net.

Ds lite is reading system date error

Known problem with the NDS Cards but here is a temporary fix:Take out the NDS cards and start up DS without them
  • Tap the symbol in the middle of the screen at the bottom that looks like a DS.
  • Tap the blue box with a calender and clock in.
  • Change the date a month or two back.
  • Restart DS with NDS cards in.
Even though this is temporary the people at NDS are working for a solution. But until then you might just have to keep putting the date back.

Dsi system date error

Tried this myself - you could actually set it back to 2009, so just change the year, not the date.
