My h22L/ns40 cant read anything. it working normal before I reinstal winxp on my pc. on win explorer its recognized as a dvd-ram drive only, but cant read. on device mangr the device work properly

Maybe it is the disks you are using. Perhaps a bad batch. Perhaps there is something patially covering the laser and inserting a cleaning disk could remedy the problem too.

I replaced my old drive in my Windows XP PC with a used LG GSA-H22L.
Mine is a setup as a Slave on the Secondary IDE Port.
I found the manual in PDF format using Google (but I can't remember where?).

BTW - that 3 wire cable is probably for hooking up the drive audio to your PC's sound card/circuit.
You got a bad laser in the drive not the laser the reads the laser that writes and this does generally happen when a dvd ram drive goes. Recommend buying a new drive as a replacment laser is upwards of $90 bucks, thanks for using fixya please do accept and rate.
I am stumpted. I am not sure. normally if a drive cannot read a disk and all of the software and drivers are correct then I would say that the drive head is out of alignment . Pasify me if you will and restore you computer to the time before you stared havign the problem just to insure that it is not software.If it reads DVD's it shoud also read cd's.?
Most likely your CD-DVD burning software is corrupted. When that happens, the machine doesn't recognize the existence of the CD/DVD hardware. Clean up your machine, defrag, run a freeware registry cleaer-defragmenter (see C-net for a good one). Then Reinstall/upgrade your burning software (the Windows XP software is not sufficient) either from HP/Compaq, if it came with your machine, or the program website if you purchased it separately. You may find out which it is by using a marvelous freeware program called Belarc advisor.
