We have two of TVs and we have had to replace the lamp on one of them about once a year. We heard a pop last night and checked the lamp. It was blown. My husband took the lamp from the other tv and placed it in the one with the problem and then we ordered a lamp for the other one. This morning the TV blew the replacement lamp. Now we wonder if their is another problem and do not want to put another lamp in there and have that one blow also. I suggest checking the lamp. find you owners manual and go through the steps to "replace the lamp" if it is popped and you can see little pieces moving around inside than contact toshiba and they will send you a replacement with credit card numbers of course.

3 times blink shows lamp cover is removed or not installed properly on TV. Please take out lamp inside TV and check, seems its broken as you heard loud pop. Thanks.
If you have a Sony DLP, then the loud pop you heard is your lamp. The lamps last approx. 4K-6K viewing hours. Read your manual for replacement part number to reorder and very simple to replace yourself.
