you don't go in from the back, unplug the dryer, you have a newer model so you have to remove the top panel, then remove the control panel, then the front panel to get in,on most dryers you have to open the door and remove two screws under the lint filter to get front panel off.hope this helps you out.

Maytag Square-Front (1998) and Sloped-Front (1999) Dryers Front Panel and Top...

Most of the internal components of Maytag Square-Front (1998) and Sloped-Front (1999) Dryers can be accessed with the removal of the front panel and lifting of the top cover. The top cover can only be lifted after the front panel is removed. Make sure that power to the machine is disconnected prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

The first step is the removal of the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly. Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top cover lip. Open the door then lift the front of the top cover and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

The internal components of the dryer can now be accessed. Reinstall the top cover and the front panel in reverse of the removal steps.

This procedure is also applicable to Maytag Neptune Front-Load Washers. The only difference is the dispenser bezel removal.

How do you open the front of the dryer?

Unplug your dryer from the electrical first.
You would remove the electrical box from the top of the machine that holds the timer switch/start switch, etc. Be really careful that no wires come loose in the process.
Then remove the top of the machine, then the front will come off after you remove the screws holding it together.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

HIya,

Cabinet Removal- Maytag & Amana Top Load Washing Machine

Remove the two (2) screws (item #21 on the attachment below) from the bottom of the front panel. Once the screws are removed, pull out on the bottom of the front panel until the spring clips release for the cabinet top.

Dryer Not Tumbling

If you are talking about the front of the machine, above the SERVICE ACCESS PANEL, then after you remove the screws at the bottom of the FRONT PANEL, pull the panel toward the front and the top of it will pop out. It is in place with small GUIDE SCREWS and a couple of removeable clips.

If your barrel is not tumbling you probably have a broken BELT and it needs to be replaced. Easier to do this from the back I think. It goes all the way around the barrel of the dryer, so you have to put it on the barrel then attach to the IDLER PULLEY and SERVICE BOLT.

Dryer is not heating air

Sounds like the heating element or coil is out, but it could also be the board to. At any rate, if your not getting any heat what so ever, its more than likely electrical and its best to take it in. If it gets some kind of heat, then you might try cleaning out your dryer vents really good, and also in the dryer. Hope this helps.
