It has to do with the distance and direction of the different TV station antennas. You have to have a strong enough antenna, and you have to aim it at the TV station's transmitter.

HiSense 55 in smart TV. Digital Antenna

This will be a main board issue, replace the board and the set will work like it's supposed to. I would take another TV and run a channel scan and be sure your antenna is picking up the channels before ordering a main

I want to save the channels and turn my antenna to another direction and scan I loose the channels that I had can I save them some how?

The only way that I solve this issue is to write down the channels available from one direction on paper. Do the scan in the second direction. Return the antenna to the first direction and then manually add the rest of the channels. Depending on the TV, you either type in the channel number with the remote control or find a Add Channel option in the TV Channel sub-menu.

At least with my TV that doesn't have an Add Channel option in the Channel section, going to a digital channel with the remote doesn't store the channel number if the signal isn't strong enough for the tuner to resolve. Analog channels can be added when the signal is poor.

If you know all of the local channels in each direction from AntennaWeb ( http://www.antennaweb.org ) or TvFool
( http://www.tvfool.com ), you can use that documentation to add the channels at each antenna direction.

I hope this helps. If you use an electronic antenna rotor with a remote control, you may be able to program turning the antenna automatically when you change the channel. Check the documentation for the device to program this.

(Note: on my TV that adds channels only when I type in the channel number, recorded digital channels can disappear from the list if if I visit a channel with poor signal strength. Until the antenna is directed towards that transmitter, I can't add the channel back into the list.)

HDMI input works ok. Hooked up external antenna. Did channel scan. It will only scan for analog channels. Has analog raster on screen. It has no information on menu page for digital channel scan.

do you have the air option in the scan menu see
http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/sanyo/dp42841.html
page 9 important fact cable digital gets wiped by air digital channels

You may be able to get around this via a digital hd tv decoder box and then have it on a hdmi input on the TV as a backup to the cable if you can't have both cable digital channels stored and aerial digital channels stored

How do I run a channel auto scan?

There are many different ways, because each TV manufacturer calls each menu option something different. In your TV menu there should be an option that says Set Up, or Channels, or something similar. Your TV should be, Menu, pan right to Channel, select whether you are using Air (air meaning antenna, picking up channels that are broadcast free over the air) or Cable (only if you use cable with no box). Then the option below should be auto scan. Allow to run completely. Sanyo DP42D24 User Manual Channel

Why won't my new Vizio DTV work on an antenna without the digital box?

Do you have the antenna aimed correctly and the correct antenna for the distance between your location and the stations? Check antennaweb.org and tvfool.com for the directions to the stations you should be able to receive. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the station list. TVfool gives the stations you should get with various different types of antennas. Tall trees and buildings will block signal strength so consider the environment around you.

With digital signals, if you do not have enough signal strength for a given tuner, the channel will not come in. An amplifier may help you get the signal, particularly if the signal is shared to several devices. Failure of an amplifier or lightning surge protection can stop the signal from reaching the TV. A surge through the antenna can damage the tuner.

A damaged cable can also be a source of a problem. Check the outside portion of the wire as well as the interior wires. Replace any that have damaged insulation or ends.

For this TV, if you have done a channel scan with the TV set to the Input TV/DTV, and the Signal Source set to Antenna. Turn the antenna and then set the Additional Scan to On. (Menu > TV > Channels > Additional Scan.) Then do another channel scan.

If you need a copy of the manual, see: http://www.vizio.com/m220va.html#support .

My 47" LG has an internal HD reciever but it isn't picking up any HD channels.

Is it connected to an antenna? Did you do a channel scan for digital channels? See www.dtvanswers.com or http://dtv.gov/iguide.htm for more information.
