Double ring tone issue

I have a Blackberry Tour 9630, besides it being really temperamental when trying to set a ring tone a new problem has emerged. Now when I get a text message the person's individual ring tone with play and another ring tone will play right after it. It is the same ring tone that plays right after the text ring tone each time. It also plays after I exit out of a call. How do I make this stop because this song is driving me out of my mind? I finally had to put it on vibrate but I need to be able to actually hear my phone ring for a call or text for work in case I am not near the phone.

BlackBerry Tour: How to make it ring and vibrate for incoming calls

You can customize your BlackBerry Tour so that either it rings when you get a phone call, or it vibrates -- or both. To make your phone both ring and vibrate when you get a call, go to your BlackBerry's sounds and ring tone options, which you can get to by either of the following two ways:

#1 - Use the trackball to go to the sound icon in the upper left corner of the main screen and click on it, then toward the bottom of the list that appears, select Set Ring Tones/Alerts, then select Phone.

#2 - On the main screen, press the BlackBerry button (the one with the seven dots) to take you to your Home folder. Scroll down to the Options folder (it's usually toward the bottom, and it has a wrench icon) and click on it, then select Sounds and Ring Tones.

From this scren you can select the ring tone that you want and adjust the ring tone volume. Then scroll down to Vibration and set it for On.

There is also an option for Vibrate with Ring Tone. If you turn this option on, the phone will both ring and vibrate at the same time when you get a call. If you turn it off, the phone will vibrate first, then ring. Either way, you'll get the ring and the vibration -- it's just a matter of whether they happen together or not. To see the difference between the two options, use the "Try it" option at the bottom of the screen.

When you've made the selections that you want, exit out of the options screen, but be sure to choose Save rather than Discard to save your changes.

My phone will not ring out loud and vibrate at the same time.

To turn on a ringtone and vibration, go to your BlackBerry's sounds and ring tone options by either of the following ways:

1. Use the trackball to go to the sound icon in the upper left corner of the main screen and click on it, then toward the bottom of the list that appears, select Set Ring Tones/Alerts, then select Phone.

2. In the Home folder, go to your Options folder (usually toward the bottom, has a wrench icon) and select Sounds and Ring Tones.

Select the ring tone and volume that you want, and for Play Sound select Always. Scroll down to Vibration and set it for On.

There is an option for Vibrate with Ring Tone -- set that to on in order to make your phone both ring and vibrate at the same time, then save the settings when you cancel out, and you're all set.

How do you change ring tone for a text message on a blackberry tour 9630

Go to the sounds icon in the upper left corner of your main Home screen (the one that looks like a speaker with sound coming out of it). Scroll down the list that appears and select Set Ring Tones/Alerts. Click Messages, then SMS Text. Select the ring tone and volume that you want for text messages, as well as any other options (like vibrate) and then exit out and save your changes.

My ring tones have stopped working on my Blackbery

There may be a setting that got adjusted somehow. Go into your Options (the wrench icon) and select "Sounds and Ringtones." Under "Ring Tone," there is a volume setting -- make sure it is not set to "Silent." Underneath that, there is a setting called "Play sound" -- make sure that's set to "Always"or "Out of holster."

Do other sounds work on your BlackBerry (such as music files, video clips, or alerts)?

I am trying to get my blackberry tour unlocked so

As of right now, the Tour is too new to be unlocked, so far as I know. You should be able to find a reliable unlock method by the end of the year.
