Problem is that the powder detergent in the detergent compartment is not dispensing through the cycle. My wife has to fill the powder detergent compartment with water before washing a load. Any suggestions will be helpful!!! By the products way my wife does use the HE product that are recommended

Inside the dispenser drawer, at the bottom there is a tab that you can push down to remove the dispenser drawer. Remove the drawer and check if the dispenser holes are clogged, this is a common cause.
The piece of plastic at the top is due to distribute cleaner/softener dispensing through cicles, closing one or the other hole.
If you have a compressor you should blow into the dispenser holes to eventually remove a cleaner dry residual obstructing the conduct from inside. If it still does not work you should check inside the machine for a pipe out of place, however, if the pipe supplying the dispenser drawer is out of place you should have water coming from bottom of machine.

No clogged holes with the dispenser!!! Pulled out the dispenser drawer, and notice that there is a hose in the back top that shoots water though a piece of plastic that is attached to the top of the compartment. This peice will move left and right, and it feeds into what seems to be weep holes on top of the dispencer compartment. Not sure if this a correct assumption. Will turn on the washer to check this out. In the mean time anyother suggestions would be helpful.
