Are you using Windows 7? If so, this is a known problem.
The xerox website says to uninstall the printer and reinstall with the correct driver, but this did not work for me.

We have a Xerox Phaser 8500N printer. The yellow is printing out a dingy gold. I hav checked the yellow print blocks and there is plenty.

What it essentially boils down to is that you're not printing enough color. The blocks are melted into a holding bin and will discolor over time. To correct this, you will need to purge the color that is "stale". Go to this link http://www.solid-inks.co.uk/technical_support-phaser_850_860_8200.html?category_id=1 and download the pdf for your color (I would recommend downloading all four to keep on hand). You'll want to open the PDF and print 10 to 20 copies until the bad ink is replaced with fresh ink. You'll notice the color change as the ink is purged.

Xerox 8500n with error 13323.47:23971

13,323 is a Printhead Reservoir Temperature Faults . One of 3 things. In order of likeliness.
1. Print head has failed
2. Cable to the back of the print head is loose.
3. Electronics module has failed..

What that code means is that once the ink melts and flowes into the print head, the print head is not maintaining the proper temperature.

Check the paper path for any and all debris. Use canned air to remove any debris. Also check the paper tray guides to see if they are matched correctly.

My 8500N prints reams of code instead of the jpg sent to print

First off and I am sure you have tried this, but power of then power up your printer. Just to allow it to reload the software internally.
The other thing is to change drivers. That is what is generating the code.
You can go to Xerox.com there is a varity of drivers to try. Sometimes a PS and PCL driver will intrepert differently and print code like that.
Not sure preview is where the problem is. But I am assuming it prints fine in other applications.
There is also a firmware update on the xerox.com site, you can upload the newest printer software there. Or at least start out with a clean version on your printers operating software.
I strongly suspect a driver change will help.

Phaser 860 error code 07.003.45:116163

It is a print head tilt error.
Most likely ink is in the stainless steel pivot block at the bottom of the print head.
Also the printer could have been unplugged and the cleaning blade is stuck to the print head.
Or a cable is binding the print head movement.

The first obvious question is, "Does it have blue ink/wax?" Is it displaying any errors? Have you tried the Xerox support site? They have a fantastic utility that can connect to your printer and diagnose many problems. Here's the URL for the utility: http://www.phasersmart.com/ They also have a wealth of information in their knowledge base. Here's the URL for the support page for the Phaser 8400: http://www.office.xerox.com/printers/color-printers/phaser-8400/sprt-enus.html Did anything happen before the blue quit printing? Have you tried running a cleaning cycle?

I can't get rid of the margins when i print something

I'm guess you are printing from MS Word? Click File the "Page Setup" Click the layout tab the far right then go to the bottom and click borders and select the NONE option. You should have your borders removed!! =) That is if that is the type of border you are talking about.

Cheers!!
