I'm trying to install a new Motorola DCH70 digital set-top box from Comcast to a Sony TV and JVC DVD player.
Installation diagrams from Motorola and Comcast show wall to set-top box, set-top box to VCR (not DVD), then VCR to TV. None of the diagrams show installation when a DVD player is involved.
PROBLEM: Since the DVD doesn't have inputs how is the connection made between the set-top box and the DVD player?
I've seen instructions elsewhere which connect the set-top box to the TV then to the DVD.
Comcast also provides instructions for using coax cable to connect the three units in STB-DVD-TV order and supplied the coax, but don't the other cable types provide better quality video and audio?
All Motorola and Comcast installation instructions, regardless of various components being used, show the first connection through the DVD, not the TV so I've assumed that's the way it should be done.
Thanks so much for the help!!
Hi ccraigo
To answer your question;
Your motorola will connect directly(not through the dvd) to the tv set into one of the input ,(preferably using hdmi or component cables for hd) and the dvd will use a different input,
All you have to do then is switch between which one you want to watch.
Hope this help Cheers
