This was totally the solution to no picture but normal sound- I purchased the two caps 150uF, 25V. from Digi-key and the tiny 2.5 Amp(or so i think) fuse and voila! Perfect picture is restored for a few bucks. Don't even bother with Radio shack- they don't have the 150. Outstanding solution and web-site.(This was the solution to the same prob. I am having. It was answered by Badavis, I was hope full to get the Digi-key part #'s so can repair my Magnavox 15MF605T/17 black screen with sound issue. Thank you.

The caps were standard 150uF 25v electrolytic radial leads Digikey 493-1822-ND
The fuse was ridiculously tiny, a pain to solder 2.5A 32v fast 1206 Digikey F1464CT-ND
Thanks again to Badavis who posted the solution- I wouldn't have even tried fixing it without that.

    csp assik,
Just saw this solution. I have the same problem, but don't know where these caps and fuse are located. If you would be kind enough to provide me some guidance, I'd appreciate it. Respond to me at [email protected]
    Thanks, Don

Someone gave me a dell w3000 tv and i hooked up the speakers and cable line and plugged in. the tv button turns on and green light comes on but no picture or sound

I have this tv, and have had the EXACT problem. my solution was simple. just need patience if you take the back cover off of the monitor, there are 2 boards on the outside edges of the left and right of the monitor. these boards are covered by metal shields. remove the 3 screws on each board shield and slide them off.(careful this can be tricky) on the boards are 2 capacitors that need to be replaced. 4 total, 2 on each board. the capacitors are 150uf at 35 Volts. go to your local electronics repair shop to get the parts and tools needed to do this repair.
make sure to get the polarity of these caps right. stripe side on cap goes to the minus.

Picture turned dark for several months and now is totally black.

There are two capacitors on the inverter board that will appear slightly puffy on top. Replace both of them. You might also have to replace a surface mount fuse on the other side of the same board. This should fix any backlight or pending problems.

I had a simuler issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio connections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Is a Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the locations of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check all Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. Look to see if the Caps are deformed and or split at the top. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H.

Flat tv, sound but no picture. have tried

I had one that had a black screen and fixed the problem by repairing the inverter. When I opened the unit I looked at the capacitors on the inverter board and found them swollen. I looked at the bottom of the board and found that the fuse had opened up. The caps were a cheap quality low temp variety 150uF at 25V I replaced them with 330uF 25 volt 105C caps. I then replaced the 2.5A surface mount fuse with an axial 2.5A pico fuse and the TV worked beautifully.

Tv will not turn on

Common problem with this set are the two 1000uF@25v capacitors and the 150uF@400v cap on the power supply board.

MAG Innovision LT2219WDB monitor will turn on -picture up clear as ever and 2 seconds screen goes black, turn it on and off screen comes up clear as always and 2 seconds goes black. will not keep the...

I have the same problem with a customer's monitor (LT716S); it turned out to be damaged power supply board. As I understand it, MAG has a 3 year warranty on parts, will probably charge you a flat labor fee plus shipping. If you do not have your purchase documentation for warranty, dump it and replace. If you can, then you may wish to have it repaired.

My customer replaced theirs; I am trying to purchase replacement parts to repair...good luck.

Polaroid television dead

I fixed my dead FLM-2632 by replacing the large black 150uf 450 volt power supply capacitor. I used a $4.09 Digi-key PN P14080-ND 420 volt 150UF Cap since I only power the TV on 110 vac. ( http://digikey.com. )The Rubycon 450 volt 150 uf Cap is no longer manufactured because it has poor life in a high ripple current switching power suppy application like used in many TVs. If you are not experienced in soldering, don't attrmpt this repair on your own. You have to cut the leads on the old Cap before you can carefully pry the old cap loose from the RTV. Use solder wick to clean the terminals before installing the new Cap. Hope this helps!

Philips 190G -> http://www.cnet.com.au/i/r/2006/desktops/monitors/22139625/Philips_190G6FB-97_c.jpg

My solution:
Open the monitor. Take off the mainboard. There´s a supply board for the backlight under it.
Replace the two purple capacitors (150uF/25V). These are from a bad batch.

Also replace fuse F1 (lightbrown SMD-component) on the bottom of that board (near the long side).
It has blown as a result of the bad capacitors.

In my case the values were dropped to 25 uF. And the internal resistance (R) was more than 2 ohms.

That´s it. Hope it helped you.
