I have installed the mic, tuened up the volumes and made the c-1u my default microphone. I am trying to record vocals onto cubase but get no response. My old pc mic when plugged into the front input records no problem but the Behringer plugged into the usb doesnt seem to be recognised. I have a green light on the C-1u.

How to Operate a Behringer C-1U
The Behringer C-1U is a USB condenser mic for recording individual instruments. A condenser microphone is a mic that uses vibrations produced by sound to change the distance of internal plates that produce signal. Condenser mics typically require an extra change, known as phantom power, to operate. Since the C-1U is USB powered, phantom power is not needed. The Behringer C-1U has a frequency response that favors sounds around the 10KHz range. This heightens the clarity of recorded signals due to the microphone's treble boost.
Things You'll Need:
* Computer with USB 2.0 port
* USB cable
* Recording software
Instructions
Turn on the computer. When the operating system loads, connect the microphone.
Install any necessary drivers for the C-1U. This will happen automatically when the device is connected.
Select the Behringer C-1U as an input source in any desired audio software. In Windows, click the "Volume" icon in the task bar to open the mixer. Select the C-1U as the primary input. On Macs, use the "Audio/MIDI Setup" in the "System Preferences" menu to select the C-1U as the primary input
Note: make sure you activate the phantom power on the mic. That's the only way to power up the microphone.
Have a nice day.

It depends on your operating system, but in XP, open Cubase. Go to the audio input settings, and be sure to select "USB Audio Codec" or "USB Audio Microphone" as the input device.
In Vista, right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar (usually lower right hand corner of the screen) and select "Recording Devices". Make sure to select the "USB Audio" device, then try Cubase again.
SOURCE: cannot record
Im having the same probz, got a Hp Pavilion Vista using mobile pre amp usb when i record using a condenser mic XLR nothing is picked up from the channels in Cubase or Nuendo. Im trying to record vocals but the Mic is not picked up and i cannot hear myself in the headphones and it wont transfere to cubase.
It has worked before when i had a desktop, but this only worked with a separate m-audio sound card inside the desktop and i plug in the output jax leads from the desktop (soundcard) to the m-audio usb pre amp
Is this why it is not working for the laptop do i need a Jax connection and where is this audacity

Here is the manual:http://www.behringer.com/EN/downloads/pdf/MIC2200_P0054_M_ENG.pdf Plug your microphone into the input using a proper cable. Plug another balanced cable into the output on the back and plug it into a microphone input on the mixing board. If your mixing board already has phantom power, disable it for that input as the MIC2200 has phantom power. Read the manual carefully and take note of the directions for phantom power and balanced cables. Make sure you follow the directions carefully. If you need the manual in a different language look the MIC2200 up under products at Behringer.com and you can download in pdf format in many different languges.
