You need to remove the inks and lift out the printhead, check the bottom for any paper scraps, wipe gently on a damp paper towel. If after cleaning you still get partial blue, you will need a new printhead. The part number is stamped on the side of the printhead. Sometimes paper lint and scraps stick to the bottom of the printhead.

SOURCE: The auto print head alignment

It sounds like your black (K) or Black/Yellow (KY) head needs to be replaced.
The problem appears to be in the top half of the black head.
Without knowing more (like what make/model the printer is) I can't help more than that.

I was only getting the bottom half of printed words. Ran test pages, alignment, clean printheads. These inks are brand new. It also did it with my other inks which is why I replaced them. I have Kodak...

Cleaning the print-heads is the correct action to take -- if the ink-jets are clogged, then the ink (in either old or new cartridges) cannot be sprayed onto the paper.

Note that the print-head has multiple jets -- like painting across a wall with a wide paint-brush.
So, if you don't have paint on the top half of the brush, then only the bottom half of each row on the wall will get painted.

Try some more head-cleaning cycles.

WHEN IT PRINTS IT IS SKIPPING LINES

The ink-jets are like a wide paint-brush, painting a "band" across the page.
If half of those ink-jets are clogged, or only half of the paint-brush has paint,
then only half of the "band" will be "painted" onto the surface.

So, run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to UNCLOG those jets.

Hi, when i try to print from my dell computer, I get half the picture & it comes out in blue. When I run clean cartridge I only get blue lines running across the page. I've checked the ink levels via...

May try new ink jet cartridges, as the nozzles can get plugged up over a period of disuse. Maybe try to wipe the ink jet cartridge nozzles with a cloth soaked with rubbing alcohol to clean.

But, if that doesn't work, then new cartridges are indicated even though they are kind of expensive.

All photos, when printed have stripes/bands, especially noticeable on blue sky. Any way to improve, or is that just a problem with the model?

Change the ink jet cartridge for the blue or other colors. Make sure you align the print heads through the printer control panel or 'service' area of the printer on the computer.

If changing the ink jet cartridges and aligning doesn't help, then the printer is at fault. Usually, though, servicing these two things will rectify things.

Good luck with this repair.

All-in-one printing half text. breaking words i.e. there are breack in printing

Try running the cartridge cleaning. Most likely one some of the ink jets are clogged. You can also try removing the cartridge and cleaning the ink jets with some alcohol

Not printing the top half of letters on HP OfficeJet 4680 printer

Well, this can be an almost entry print cartridge. Or a clogged print cartridge. Or a broken wire that connects to the print head so that it does not work the top half jets. Or a bit of dirt or stuff on the pad that connects the cartridge to the print head.
1. Remove the cartridge, and blow the area out with canned air. Shake the cartridge, both to redistribute ink and to verify the presence of ink.
2. Examine the ribbon cable that connects the cartridge to verify that it is intact.
3. If and only if you can't find a problem in the above, (or if they are empty) replace the cartridges.

Easyshare5300 wont print

Hi Grandma,

Sorry to hear of your trouble.

I would remove the ink carts, reseat the print head then reinstall the ink carts. Try printing again to see if things improve. If it does good. If not try the Kodak online team. 800 421 6699 They will help you get things working correctly.

Xerox 8200 Phaser color problems

Have you gone to Xerox.com and clicked Support and Drivers.
In the box that appears type Phaser 8200. The click the red drivers and downloads. Then scroll down and download the jet snipit files.
Then run it as the directions tell. It does a specific jet cleaning that may restore the blue.
Also have you tried to subsitute any jets? The jet substitution comes up in the remove light stripes area. There is a test pattern that prints out with the colors and jet numbers. You then substitute the jet number with the blank square.
You can try those, but with an 8200, I strongly suspect the only thing that is going to correct the problem you have it to replace the print head itself.
I will say also, that is a very expensive part.
The Phaser printers that are toner based now. They produce the best quality color print available. The toner particles on those now align, and are not just placed on the paper "close" to correct. They do it perfectly.
If exact and outstanding color is what your looking for I would look in that direction to be honest. A new print head for a 8200, is over $700.
Try the snippet cleaning, jet substitution and if those dont help, more than likely , I would say 98 percent chance your print head is needing repalced.
You indicated you used the different color settings. Does that include tek color correction?
At the Xerox.com site look into that under support. In the support area type in blue then follow the incorrect color items.
Wish I had an exact answer. In a way there is, but you have to try the snippit and substitution modes to verify the print head will not clean itself properly.
