I've got my DeWalt xrp hammer drill apart and can't get it back together . How do I do it without taking it to someone else?
SOURCE: Cannot engage hammer action
the problem is the metal part of the clutch that meets the pin from the transmission. remove the 4 screw from the clutch & check if the the inside of the clutch & the trans pin meets. all you can do is to push back the metal parts of the clutch setting.

not being able to move the "Mode Control Collar" and unless you can
get it out of hammer mode, you will not be able to change the torque collar
either.
If you feel comfortable taking it
apart AND its no longer under warranty, my best guess without seeing the tool will
be part# N026313 Gear Case Assembly. It costs about $80.00 US
Hopefully its under warranty, if so
you can go to

to locate nearest service center.
Good luck
