I have a toshiba 50hm66. I use an over the air antenna for local channels. All the channels signal meter is at top peak. NBC CBS FOX PAX. The problem is with the CBS HD and digital channels. I get no sound on CBS only. Again the signal meter is at higest peak. Any ideas?

Buy a digital converter box. It works through the box..... guaranteed....
those answers are totally, the signal is digital, and the audio information is embedded into the digital stream, so if you get a good picture, then you are getting the audio. More than likely the audio is being encoded in a way that the tv can not decode...more than likely its encoded in Dolby 7.1 and the TV only recognizes Dolby 5.1.

I have the same problem. I have video but no audio on the local CBS station both over the air and on cable. Toshiba says it is signal integrity and the televsion needs to be calibrated because it is slightly off the frequency. They say digital signals are very close together and sometimes difficult for the scan to pick up. Any other suggestions?
All of my airwave channels have full signal but only my cbs dash 1 channel has no sound.
