I have inherited a Viking Husqvarna Model 6020 sewing machine. I have no idea how to turn the stitch selector knob. I have tried with a cam and without a cam installed. I have tried setting the length and width to 0. I have tried pushing on the center of the knob, pulling the knob, turning the knob in both directions. I have the manual but it just says to turn the knob and it won't turn. It will not recognize the cam until I can turn the stitch selector, length, and width to the same color.
What causes a machine to sew only tiny stitches and the adjustment length knob to be set on all selections including 1,2,3,or 4 and still only have the tiny stitch sew out. This is a Viking 6020 machine problem
Look at the cam gear. This is the unit that the cam connects to. It could have a crack or be split completely. If there is a crack the cam stack will have to be replaced. The parts are hard to get and a good technician is needed.
Check these things, bobbin in properly, upper thread seated in tension disc right, and make sure your feed dogs are all the way up.
