HOW TO USE THE SELF CLEAN FUNCTION ON A KENMORE FREE STANDING GAS STOVE

I'd guess the oven temperature sensor and or controls have an issue. You will probably need to find an authorized technician to get it fixed. Gas is dangerous in the wrong hands. Your gas company may be the best resource.

I have lost my owners manual for my Kenmore elctric double oven model 79041399403. I want to know how to use the clean function

if it locked yp in self clean . it is best to put it into a new self clean cycle and let go through complete clean and cool down. then try too open do not force .. it may have a bad latch / or a bent latch . mm

Most of these new fangled gas stove feature a silicone carbide ignitor to light the oven. Older stoves used a standing pilot light. As silicone carbide ignitor age a little they tend to get weak and fail to open the gas safety vave sufficiently enough for ignition. Take a look

E1 F5 is bad door lock assembly. Only way to repair is to replace the locking assembly completly. Sorry. Hope this helps.

i think you should just clean yourself

The lock is operated by a solenoid and may have stuck due to friction or goo around the magnet core. Try bumping the stove or lifting it 2 inches in front and dropping to the floor. 2 inches will not break anything. There may be a mechanical timer in the self-cleaning circuit... is your gas stove still plugged in and showing signs of power such as ability to ignite top burners electrically? If the timer has failed the door lock solenoid is still activated and there could be a slight hum. Try unplugging the range and see if the door can be opened. The thermal interlock should be free to let the lock retract. If that works replace the timer motor. If solid state (no timer motor) replace circuit board with timer relay.

turn off the circut breaker for the stove. I JUST had to do this myself.

if you open the lid on your stove,you will probably be able to reset the switch manually (the latch).with the lid up its located toward the front behind the safety latch.(by no means attempt to force,bypass,or disable this switch)this is a safety feature designed to protect you from the high temps generated by the cleaning cycle.hope this helps.thanx for using fix-ya
