Re: Westinghouse SK-32H540S LCD HDTV Video Comes On,
Take a strong light and put it up against the screen. Do you see a faint image? if yes, then your backlight has failed. Could be a lamp, inverter or power supply issue. Not for DIY'ers.

You need to replaced your Inverter Board, If you can do the job, get the Board Part number and order it from Westinghouse. If not call a Professional TV Technician. At least you have an idea what's the trouble with your set. Hope this Tip will help you. Thanks
1 swollen Capacitors / Replace 2 blown Diodes on inverter board / on some # 508 or 908 3 bad transistors in inverter bad will appear overheated powdery coat 4 replace inverter if you cannot locate problem on it there is a safety built into the high power back light supply and that is if too much current is drawn or light is shorted it will not burn up or hazard high volt shock to user. capacitors and diodes driven with power transistors look for darkened spots on the board to identify hot transistors puffy tops and leaky bottoms of capacitors
when you turn it on does the bottom or top of the screen show image a Milli second before the other it should be evenly the lag is the one requiring more amperage
I found a place where they seem to have it,< shopjimmy.com> some of the items they have for sale come out of new broken or damaged TVs so be carefull to ask about this before you order.
Hello, two things, one try using the TV with the native resolution of 1366 X 768, and secondly try updating your video card. If you are not having this issue with the TV on the other inputs than most likely it is a settings issue with the laptop. Please rate this comment if it was helpful.
This is not the fix for this TV. I guarantee that none of the capacitors exhibit the common bulging characteristics of a faulty capacitor. The common answers to everyone's questions are to replace the capacitors. Most likely the culprit is the inverter board.
