I hooked up my wii on av1 with a component cable with audio on audio 1 and i have sound but no picture.

If I am reading this right, you are only hooking up one cable for audio. There is another cable needed for video. This jack is normally color coded yellow and labeled video out/in. You can use your audio cable to try this and then you will picture but no audio.

The DVI input on this set is meant for picture only.. ex. to display computer picture.
if you want audio with your picture. you must connect to either inputs YCBCr or YPbPr which both of those inputs has audio inputs.

There audio but no picture

I don't know how you connect the unit to the tv.
Let's just start on basic:
composite video/audio(yellow-video, white/red-audio) connect to TV composite video/audio input behind the TV.
If the audio works but no picture, try to use another video input behind the tv.if that still doesn't work, use a different video cable!
Good luck!
