Hi there

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.

My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.

If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

All the Best and good luck: Pineworks

Trying to use the copier and it won't work

Hi there go in printer setting & select the B/W printout. I hope its will start work. If still he asking for replacing the yellow ink then you have to replaced. Because some printer have a single sensor for all color. If he find one of them is out or no ink then he stop working. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

I changed all Print cartridges-Black, Yellow,Cyan,Blue

On this machine you have to install inks with power on and use the ink button and choose replace ink. If you just plug them in it won't register and reset the counts. You may need to run clean cycles at least twice to get proper colors.

It says machine error 41 on my brother MFC 5100C machine

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement. My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while it is under warranty. If it's out of
warranty then it is cheaper to purchase a new, non Brother model. If you have been using non-Brother cartridges or refills, they can have too much water in them and it erodes the print head after a while. Usuall y just after warranty has expired!

I change replace all ink in my brother mfc-5100c after that I receive this message: "Machine error 41, unplug the machine call brother". Please,What can I do to fix it? I rely on you for any assitance.

Machine Error 41means the printhead is bad. It's a fairly easy repair on that model, but an expensive part and requires replacing all four ink cartridges at the same time. New machines are so much smaller and cheaper that it may not be worth it. There are also some setting that must be changed in Service Mode to match the machine to the characteristics of the new head.
If you're still interested, look for Brother part number LK0935001.

MFC-5100C won't print all colors...

Hello 4wards,
Try getting one of the expensive cartridges, some printers don't use all of the cheap inks, because it prints out only the acceptable colors. Get a better Ink Cartridge and it should be fine.

Hope this Helped - NeWeVoLuTioN

Brother MFC 5100C making white line in printing

Hi,

The printhead is probably clogged. You may be able to clean it, by removing the mechanism and soaking the actaul printhead in a solution of white vinegard or you may have to replace the printhead. A web search may result in instructions on how to remove the head. Prinheads appear to still be available via Ebay and others. They run about $60-70 and if you have a bit of tech abilities, replacment should be relatively easy to do yourself. Not sure about finding a repair center that will do it for you or what the associated cost would be..
