I HAVE A DELL 1907 FPT MONITOR DISPLAYS PINK THEN GOES BLACK EVERY TIME IT IS TURNED ON THE POWER BUTTON REMAINS LIT THOUGH
The board is not necessarily faulty. The problem could also be just as simple as the cord going from your unit to the monitor. If it is D -Sub link the pins could have been bent or broken. If pins are bent they can be bent back but doing so could break them off as well if not handled delicately. Check a local thrift store and see if they have a cord. They shouldn't cost much I normally pick up cords myself for no more than $1
If your monitor was added through a added separated video card (not integrated to the motherboard) the Video card itself may be no good. If possible I would check the monitor on another unit if you have one. This can help determine if it is the card or the actual monitor. If the monitor still is not working properly it would probably be cheaper to just replace the monitor (if not under warranty) than having to take it in where they will charge not just for the part but labor as well.
Most common labor cost on pc's is approx $75. Just something else to think about
Hello,
The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes
off after it is turned on and the power led or button is on, it means the
picture
board of your monitor has developed fault.
The best thing for you
to
do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center
to help with the replacement of the picture board
because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to
complicate issues.
Take care.
