ther is no need for a raid array. connect hdd assign priority to the new hdd. install 7 on new hdd,
or
just connect hdd , boot to xp , put windows 7 dvd , instal it on new hdd while u r in xp
if ur new hdd is not detecting just clear c-mos settings
it's actually good that your cpu fan is runing at it's full speed. Usually only the manufacturer issues firmwares. Lookforward Gigabyte for the update.

Did you run the motherboard cd? The usb drivers are on it. Also, make sure they are enabled intthe BIOS.
