Hi I have samsung plasma fpt5084 I have snowy picture (blinking small dots red green...They are not visable from 5 ft also sometimes a whole screen goes white with the same snow patern ,When I turn it off and on It is ok but ihe snow still exists Thank you G Dralus

Adjust vs and vsc voltages when tv is hot let tv fonction for a lease 3 hours if voltages do not fluctuate normally
replace y board

    y main is at the lefthand side facing the back of the tv

do you have a dim screen? if you put a torch to the screen at an angle can you see the picture?if so this means the backlight is out, it could be the inverter board or the bulbs themselves though this is unlikely.do you get the 24Vgoing to the backlight from the psu?

You have bad 2200uf 16volt capacitors in your power supply, probably 4 of them. I repaired a unit with this exact problem a bout 4 weeks ago. If you have a friend or family member who knows how to solder, you can get the parts for under $10.

Still under warrenty?Yes,call the tv manufacture,get this tv replaced quickly.The Plasma screen is developing a burn in dead pixels.This problems,can't not be repair.Except replaced the Plasma screen itself.The plasma screen panel are 90% of the tvs,not worth repairing,if it damages or broken.Will cost the same as a new tv,if the screen require replacing.Still under warrenty call it in right away to get the picture screen replaced under warrenty.

Dots on screen

The snowy dots and dots are typically from a poor signal going into the TV.

If there are colored pixels that stay lit all the time (like a red pixel and never goes away) and for any input, that’s called a stuck pixel.

A stuck pixel may be caused by a bad Y-Sustain, Y-drives, Z-sustain, and or a bad plasma panel.

Samsung Plasma TV Model:HP-S5053

I had the same issues and the tech came out and replaced the main board... one way to tedt if it is the PDP is in the service menu.. run the plasam ttests and verify you don't see any dots. After replacement the tech checked all voltages and all is well.

from the model number you have a 42" set,,the v_set and v_scan voltages need to be set 15vdc lower..this should take care of it,,if not then the plasma panel is bad
