HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One

After days of back and forth from allign cartridge to paper too narrow, to paper jam, to align cartridge to paper too narrow, to paper jam, maybe one successful print job,and then back to the align cartridge, paper too narrow, to paper jam over and over - have tried, looking at cartridges, check correct number, check for proper attachment, check for paper problems, check connection, check everything - now printer will not do any thing - no cartridge messages, no paper jam messages, no paper too narrow message, no successful print jobs - what should I do?

Thanks to smunteanu, cleaning the optical sensor lens with a wet cuetip did the trick. Thanks so much.

Hey there.
Looking at the print cartidges in the right side you'll find a small black cap. Under the cap is hidden the calibration optical sensor. It's job is to meassure the paper and to calibrate the cartridges. Try to clean it from underneath (the lens). If it still doesn't work, you have to replace the sensor... A HP service should be you last hope.

P.S.:
The PSC 2xxx series and DJ 5xxx series have the same sensor.

Good luck

go to hp.com, support and troubleshooting, type in your pirnter model number and download the user manual. follow the direction to disassemble the printer. you might not need to disasseble the printer, if you can see the jammed paper.
follow the direction and clean the roller and the printer head.
it should work.

To start with first try a reset:

Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet when there is still power in the All-In-One. and wait for atleast 1Min
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector. (if possible connect it to a different power outlet)
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys
until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)

Then check and see

If not try the link bellow:

Changed cartridges, printer doesn't align or function

Something seems to be physically wrong in the mechanism.

Try the rolling wheels and the belt on which the cartridges run.

Printer cartridges wont align says alignment failed and then paper too narrow

I request you to perform the steps below to align the cartridge:
1. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
2. Press Setup.
3. Press 6, then press 2.

This selects Tools and then selects Align Print Cartridge. The HP all-in-one prints a print cartridge alignment sheet and aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the page.

Bypass the alignment :

Press and hold the Enter button, and then press Menu
