Hello,

Have you try to use another charger to charge and it doesn't hold charge? if yes., no problem because it be that your charger is bad. But since it does not charge with another charger, it means the charging port is bad.

The problem with the phone is the charging port, the charging port of your phone is not charging the phone that is why it doesn't hold any charge,

All you need to do is to change the charging port of your phone and you will see that your phone will hold charge.

Take care.

SOURCE: Won't hold charge

Are you sure that its the battery losing charge in 1 phone call?? Or does the phone just die during the call? If so then the contacts from battery to phone and phone to the board are loose and need to be adjusted. But since this is an ancient model, you might want to look into an updated verison instead of spending money to fix it

SOURCE: battery won't hold charge

Hello,

The reason your phone is not holding a charge is simply because there is a problem with the terminal head.

The terminal head is malfunctioning and is not charging the battery.

To fix the terminal head,

  1. After removing your back cover and battery, remove the screws you see.
  2. With the screws removed you can now remove the battery compartment.
  3. With the battery slot removed you have access to the terminal head.
  4. it is the metallic sheets that rests on the head of the battery when inserted into the phone.
  5. Get a pin tip soldering iron and disconnect the terminal head from the green panel you will see,
  6. replace it with a new terminal head.
  7. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.

Another fault might be the charger or the charging port,

To test if it is the charger,

Try to use the same charger on another phone to see if it will work,

If it does not work then it is the charger.

To test if it is the charging port,

Test a well tested okay charger on the phone to see if it will work.

If it does not then the problem is the charging port and to change it
you follow the procedure of of changing the terminal but you have to disconnect the screen and the remove the charging port and replace it with another new one.

take care

Testimonial: "yes this was quite helpful....so it could be the charger, my local store has offered to loan me a charger that they know works, so I will try that next....if it turn out to be one of the other problems that requires replacing parts, are parts available and if so where ?????"

SOURCE: battery not holding charge

That sounds like typical battery life for that phone.  When I owned one that's what I got on the weekends when my call volume was lower.

SOURCE: my sanyo pm 8200 wont hold charge!

Hello,

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

Take care.

Hello,

Since you have try several battery, the problem is not battery problem, the problem could be either of any of this two, it might be a charger problem, i will suggest you try using a similar charger to charge the phone, see if it will charge, if it is not charger problem, then, the problem is the charging port of your phone. The charging port of your phone is bad and will need to be replace. once the charging port is replaced, the problem is solve.

Hello,

1 charger
2.battery
3.charging port
There are three ares to look at,
There are three different things you can try to determine the real problem of your phone, firstly, try use a similar charger to charge the phone to see if it will hold charge, if it does, it means your charger is bad, get a new charger. secondly, another area you will need to look at is removing the battery on your phone and charging the battery of your phone with a similar phone to see if the phone will charge the battery and hold charge, if it did not, it means the battery of your phone is bad and will need to be replace, lastlt, check, the charging port of your phone might be malfunctioning and not charging your phone, if the two above look good, it means the charging port is the problem, replace the charging port and you will see that your phone will hold charge.

Take care.

My phone wont hold a charge

Battery is done. Won't hold charge. Get a new battery at Fry's or elsewhere if your phone isn't ancient and you love it. Try to find a lithium-ion. I used to buy replacement batteries from Belkin on my older phones and they were quite good. If your phone is ancient, can't find battery or phone is just outdated get a new phone from your carrier. From free with new contract all the way to a few-hundred dollars for a smart phone. You may even have an upgrade discount waiting with your carrier. You'll find something in between that suits you.

My phone won't hold a charge. Do I need a new battery?

Most likely yes, try taking the battery all the way out and putting it back in. Also, allow the battery to drain completely and then charge from there. If it never gets a chance to drain completely this can cause problems.

If after these two steps it still isn't holding a charge then you will need a new battery.

Thanks

Power is draining

How long have you had the phone ?

your Phones battery could be potentially Leaking, and it may not be able to hold a charge anymore after how you have described the symptoms. Batteries that can no longer hold their charge expel all of the energy they would normally use to power the phone, and this generally causes excess heat around the battery compartment,

i would suggest purchasing a new battery, preferrably one created by Motorolla Specifically for your phone, when you have the battery, keep the phone on charge for a long time to ensure the battery holds its maximum charge !

This should solve your problems
