We have a Bosch dishwasher supplied with softened water - does a great job. However, on the most recent run, the soap door didn't open properly and the soap puck (we use those two part liquid/powder that dissolve) was only partially dissolved. Our stainless steel cutlery now has a hazy film all over it, something that handwashing and a subsequent successfully-executed dishwasher run didn't remove. It's expensive cutlery, less than a year old, and a wedding gift from my mother who lives next door and eats with us most evenings. Help!!

Sounds like the you need to see if your using a proper rinses / drying aget like turbo dry. Fill it up and you should be good for 40 washes. If it continues you may have a bad control unit.

Error code 12 on my ecomax dishwasher

According to the Bosch website, an E12 error code indicates a build-up of limescale in the heat pump. The solution is to purchase the Bosch descaler to remove hard water deposits and limescale buildup .

If you're unsure how to descale your dishwasher, Bosch provides instructions on their website . Additionally, they recommend using softening salt in your dishwasher if it comes with a water softener or utilizes it .

Bosch dishwasher doesn't work. water not coming

Hi Gilgol, The link below is a Bosh Dishwasher list of error codes, I believe your error code is E3....CHEERS..
http://removeandreplace.com/2015/10/09/bosch-dishwasher-error-codes-how-to-clear-what-to-check/
Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E3
Fault Condition: Not filling with water
Repair or Check: If the water supply cut-off valve on the dishwasher is completely open but the dishwasher will not fill with water then shut off the water supply and unplug the dishwasher. Remove the water fill line and check to see if the water inlet screen valve is plugged up. If so then replace the water valve. Cleaning the screen can make the issue worse so always replace if the screen is clogged. The valve can get stuck open from gunk and therefore flood or overfill.

Bosch dishwasher sgs43e how do I replace water filter

Bosch dishwashers don't have water filters per say. It may have a salt water softening system. It does have a small mesh filter in the inlet hose but if there is any kind of actual water filter inline with the system then it is external to the dishwasher.
They do have though microfine filters in sump of the unit which require cleaning regularly. This is removed by turning the plastic handle anticlockwise on the grill which is under the bottom spray arm. You turn the plastic handle to unlock the grill and lift it up revealing the filters.

Refer to the user manual for more information. If you don't have it, you should be able to download it from the BSH website.

Sgu 5602

If you are able to select wash programs and the panel is responding then most likely the water inlet valve is faulty and needs replacement. I am assuming you are hearing a click but no water comes through. Also check the inlet water tap under kitchen sink.
The valve for your dishwasher should be like this

http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/product/Valveaquastop/00263789
However, the problem can be more complicated if your dishwasher uses water softener unit. Will need the full model number to verify this. For example SGU5602/xx

Bosch dishwasher SHX46AO7UC/14 Cycle doesn't run. I suspect the filters are clogged with our hard water. Have cleaned the main outlet to best of my ability but how do you get at inlet filters?

You will have to get to the back of the machine where the water feed pipe is.
There can be a filter at the supply tap and also in the back of machine where pipe goes into the unit.
If you have hard water do you use salt (dishwasher salt not cooking) in the water softener dispenser and adjusted the machine to the correct level ?

My cups are not shiny

Check the top spray arm holes are clear as the spray arms moves due to the pressure of water going thru them, check rinse aid is full and the setting is sufficient, check salt is full and the hardness setting is correct for your water (if req'd). Make sure the spray arm is not obstructed eg by a hanging deodiriser or the plates in the bottom basket (top basket level can be changed to accomodate larger diameter plates in the bottom). Check that the glasses being washed are d/w proof and that you are using the correct cycle.
Finally, if you have a softener unit on your mains supply and are using an all in 1 detergent or salt, over softened water can have an adverse affect on wash quality, particularly glass.
Hope this helps

I have recently moved into a house which has a water softener installed - doe sthi smean that I do not have to use salt or rinse aid in the dishwasher

You will need to use salt in the softener, and rinse aid in the dishwasher will help, but you won't need to use as much.

You do want to make sure the softener is working and is setup right. You can take a sample of water before the softener (maybe on an outside faucet) and have it analyzed for hardness. Then use the manual for the softener to adjust it for the level of hardness in your water.

If you have a septic system, this is crucial, because the softener will recharge itself at night and put extra water down the drain. If you recharge too often, you can overload the septic system.

Softner drawer fills with water Most of the softner seems to be used, but when the cycle is done the drawer is full of water.

Hi, this is a not to uncommon fault on washing machines, but is easy to fix. What has happened is that the softener has built up in the outlet tube (it's actualy part of a small siphon system which ensures that the softener part of the drawer empties fully). Just take out the drawer, you will find a small resistance to withdrawing it but dont worry! You can now lift off the cover of the softener section and you will see the tube. Clean out the tube and wash everything in hot, NOT BOILING! water. Put it all back and that should be that...........Hope this helps....Let me know?.....Regards.....Cornwellnet (UK)
