If your Canon printer is capable, its called Duplex printing. You would go into the properties of your printer and if its available there then you can check it off and it will print on both sides of the paper.

Hi Robyn
PRINTING ON REVERSE SIDE OF PHOTO PAPER

The only realistic choice here is for you to chalk this episode down to experience, buy some new photo paper of the correct type to produce your preferred outcome and then do another print run of the postcards.

I always advise, when printing on exotic papers and even when producing ink intensive printing on ordinary paper, to print a single test copy first and then study the result, rather than completing the entire print run in one go.

Because of the lack of absorbency on the reverse side of the paper you used, I would also recommend temporarily putting the printer settings back to regular paper and printing a test page, so the micro-nozzles on the print head are cleared of any excess ink. If the test page is not perfect, then also run your printer's Print Head Cleaning maintenance tool. Then reset the printer back to photo printing for another run at your postcards.

Good luck.

I hope this helps.

Can I print on both sides of the page

Here are the instructions for duplex printing.

The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.

The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:

1. Open the printer driver setup window, and check the Duplex Printing check box on the Page Setup tab.

2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.

3. Specify Staple Side.

The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.

4. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.

5. Click OK.

I have a lexmark x6570 printer it will not print on both sides of the paper anymore it use to print on one side then pull the paper back in as use the other side

Please follow steps below on how to print 2-sided on your printer:
Printing on both sides of the paper (duplexing) automatically:
  1. Press printmastert_76.jpg.
  2. With a document open, click File > Print.
  3. Click Properties, Preferences, Options, or Setup.
  4. Click the Print Layout tab
  5. From the Duplexing area, select Use Printer Settings from the drop-down box.
  6. Make sure the printmastert_77.jpg light is on.
  7. Click OK to close any printer software dialogs that are open.

Printing on both sides of the paper (duplexing) manually:
  1. With a document open, click File > Print.
  2. Click Properties, Preferences, Options or Setup.
  3. Click the Print Layout tab.
  4. From the Duplexing area, select Manual from the drop-down box.
  5. Select the Print manual duplex instructions check box.
  6. Press Start.
  7. The printer prints the odd-numbered pages and the instruction sheet, which describes how to flip and reload the paper.
  8. Following the instruction sheet, flip and reload the paper with the printed side facing away from you.
  9. The printer then prints the even-numbered pages on the reverse sides of the odd-numbered pages, completing the two-sided sheets.
Note:
  • printmastert_78.jpg button is not functional with a Macintosh operating system. You can print two-sided documents with a Macintosh operating system by using the settings in the Two-Sided menu of the Print dialog.
  • Automatic two-sided printing (duplexing) works only with plain paper in letter and A4 sizes. If you want to print two-sided documents on another size or type of paper, use the manual duplexing method.
  • To return to single-sided printing, make sure the printmastert_79.jpg light is not on.

Your manual can be found here.

Printing on both sides of paper You can print on both sides of a paper; duplex. Before printing, decide how you want your document oriented. You can only use this feature with Letter, Legal, A4, US Folio, or Oficio sized paper.

Do not print on both sides of the special media, such as labels, envelopes, or thick paper to print on both sides of paper. It may cause a paper jam or damage the machine.
  1. To change the print settings from your software application, access Printing Preferences. (See Opening Printing Preferences.)
  2. Click the Layout tab.
  3. From the Double-sided Printing section, select the binding option you want.
    • Printer Default: If you select this option, this feature is determined by the setting you’ve made on the control panel of the machine.
    • None
    • Long Edge: This option is the conventional layout used in bookbinding.

    • Short Edge: This option is the conventional layout used in calendars.

    • Reverse Double-Sided Printing: Check this option to reverse the print order when duplex printing.
  4. Click the Paper tab, select the Paper Options.
  5. Click OK or Print until you exit the Print window.

If your machine does not have a duplex unit, you should complete the printing job manually. The machine prints every other page of the document first. After that , a message appears on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printing job.

Good Luck!
