PLEASE HELP! My tv goes from color to balck and white. At first it would only happen when I would watch showtime or some of the paperview channels. But yesterday it was even happening on my local channels. The place I bought this tv from came to look at it and claim it is a cable related issue. They suggested maybe getting HD TV instead of digital cable (which is what I have now) but is it really the cable or is it the tv? Oh and this is the second tv I have had this happen on. They changed it out for me once before. Please help.

I had the same problem....turned out it was the "lvds" cable that runs from the mainboard to the lcd controller board. Simply remove the tape that holds it to the back of the backlight housing and also remove the foil shielding tape from the connector on the lcd controller board.

Ur tv the LCD inverter board it dead.The LCD inverter is the board that help the LCD screen panel to get a backlight to produce a picture,the LCD inverter board is dead and it not working anymore that why u only get 8 sec.of the picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.It a long board in shape.

Check for cold soder joint in the 24vdc power supply section, especially on C310.

The problem can also be the backlight inverter baord.

It only happens on the higher channels. Takes exactly 42 seconds to go gray, and to me, that says there is nothing wrong with the TV, but the cable. For the life of me, I can't get color though...any help out there?
