My Acer 1410-2954 net-book - new - doesn't connect wirelessly with Linksys WRT54GS2 V1 router. Another laptop does. The net-book will connect if using a LAN cable. How can I resolve this? I am not sure what my SSID, password, security settings, etc. are. The net-book uses Win7 Home Premium, has 2GB memory.

If it connects with the LAN cable log into the router (probably 192.169.0.1) you can then set the SSID etc. You can then repeat the settings on the laptop

Need to get log in and password to my cisco linksys router wrt54gs2 v1

To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

Windows 7 Atheros network adapter will not connect to WRT54GS Linksys Router

First, use a lan calble to reach the router. Then check the settings on the router and see what ip address is assigned to your laptop. Also check the password setting on the router. Try using WPS as an alternative to setting up the password, etc. WPS will work with either a pin number or push button. It should solve your problem. If not, then use the first solution, although it may be a little more complicated for you. Last thing you can do is go to into Microsoft's network and sharing center, and choose "manage wireless networks" and make sure the adapter is "enabled".

I am trying to figure out how to connect my Linksys WRT54GS2 router to my Hughesnet HN9000 modem. I have already attempted what hughesnet website told me to do and it didn't work. I have it set up...

DHCP and static IP are two different things. DHCP assigns IP addresses, and static Ip just means that the IP address stays the same, and is not dynamic. You probably need to reset the modem to accept what it sees as a :"new" router. Turn off both router and modem. Restart the modem first, give it a minute to boot up, then turn on the router- in that order. It should be ok now.

Setting up Linksys Wireless Router for Satellite

In Windows, run "cmd". Type "ping google.com". If you can ping google.com, the problem is with the websites you are trying to surf. If you cannot ping google, there is a problem with your connection. This sounds like a used wireless router

You might need to configure it. See this: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=139668#H2

Wifi getting connected with new linksys

You need to call Linksys again for them to help you setup the other computer. For the none-working computer, you don't need to run the setup CD for the router. All you need to do is connect to wireless network like what you did on the working laptop.
