How hard is it to replace a video board and a LCD panel on a Sony Bravia KDL46W3000 and where would you get the parts, and how much would it cost

Check its mother board for any solder loose or refulator IC failure. You must have through knoledge in electronics to follow up. If you have, inform me.
This is the pircture of the motherbard to your tV. To do any sork to this board, you must have knoledge to follow its schematic diagram, It is a skilled work indeed.

The LCD Digital Control Board is bad. Unfortunately you must replace the LCD Panel because that is the only way it is available. These Control Boards and The LCD Panels are match together.
Due to the cost of the LCD Panels, it makes it senseless to repair. It would cost more to fix it than to repair it.

T-Con board is part of lcd panel and lcd panel seems defective in your tv problem.
Call Sony/ Store if tv is still under warranty for cover or lcd panel replacement would cost you 80% of new tv price.

In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

The LCD Panel is the source of the problem. Sometimes the T-Con Board that connects to the LCD Panel fails causing this problem. For the most part, the Panels come with this Board and the Board is not available by it's self.
In short, the LCD Panel needs to be replaced.
Due to the cost to replace, I recommend you to call Sony at 1800-222-SONY to see if they would be able to help you in the repair cost.

It is most likely the TCON board (located at the top right against the LCD panel). When these boards have problems, they can act up when cold or warmed up.

You will want to check with any extended warranty company you might have, or Sony's part website for the availability of the TCON board.

The problem here is, sometimes those TCONs are not made available separately and need to be replaced with the screen.

If you have to replace the panel, buy a new tv. You'll save yourself a costly repair.

9 flashes indicates a panel error, either the panel itself or the TCON board is bad. the solution is the same for both, replace the panel (the TCON board is supplied with the panel). I daresay the cost of the part would exceed the value of the TV
