Check this one out! My GE Profile microwave heats up but I don't hear the fan. However, the inside light and the turntable stopped working at the same time. Everything else seems to be working fine. What's wrong with my microwave?

Hello,

this is a maize problem that wiring (wire) this means that your oven fan has been disconnected from it position

what you need to fix up your fan back is that you unscrew your oven trace the maize that supply A/C to the microwave

this maize is connected to different object but what by you are real after is your fan and the heater including the turntable .

trace the wire down to the fan to locate the loss wire from it position and do the fixing your self because it is same maize thaat link up both together i.e fan and turning table

please note before you can do this make sure that any form of power supply is put off.

Good luck and thank for using fixya.

My GE Microwave, model # JE1640WA001, stopped microwaving. The timer works and the light inside the microwave turns on, but now the turntable and the fan do not work. Sounds like a relay is kicking in as...

Is the unit heating the food? If not you may have a fubar magnetron tube. But it is fused so you might want to check the internal fuse to make sure it is not open.

Buzzing sound... Turntable stopped. food heats up but uneven. No microwave fan when heating.. no light inside expensive fix?? Unit is 10 years old

If the microwave oven is 10 years old then it is time to consider a new unit, by your description it is going into cascade failure where different parts have stopped working, the buzzing sound is the magnetron warning you, it is about to fail. The fans job is to keep the magnetron cool while it is running.

Light and fan stay on and turntable no longer work

Hi,
Not sure if your model has a belt driven turntable or gear driven. The cause of your problem is most likely a worn or loose drive gear or a drive belt which is worn or has come off.
Best have this checked at your local repair shop.

GE Microwave Doesn't Work, Timer Ok

More than sure, the door micro switches do not work properly, they should be carefully checked.

Microwave not working, please suggest

Your magnetron tube has failed. According to the warranty on the Profile Series microwave ovens, the magnetron is covered for 5 years from the date of purchase, but labor is not included. I would call GE Customer Service and when they ask for the model number (which begins with JVM) and the serial number, be sure to give the date of purchase as the date you closed on your house. If they insist upon charging you for a service call and labor, I would call my builder's Customer Service Department and demand (very nicely) that they intervene with GE to waive the service and labor charges. That worked for me (Lennar Homes).
