TV is a 4 year old 37'' LCD the piture goes to blue screen and sound drops to zero whenever an explosion or bright white screen is broadcast, even during commercials. This is true for the DirecTV feed whether on live broadcast or recorded on the DVR(problem records to DVR). The length of the outage depends on how long the bright screen is present normal 3 to 10 seconds and system rests. Red off-light displays during outage and returns to green when screen outage is over. No problem experienced when TV connected to DVD player or VCR during explosions or bright white scenes. DirecTV has replaced the box twice, and re-wired the dish once no help. They claim it is the TV. Still think it may be in the DirecTV line, Three other TV's(all non-LCD) and DirecTV lines in house do not show this problem

A blue screen indicates no video signal, if you change the video input to a DVD player is it still a blue screen? If yes then the TV is defective. If no then some how the signal is being lost to the TV from whatever source you use for watching broadcast TV
Show a torch light on the screen for a distance, and if you can see the picture, the backlight is not lighting up. Check for its settings on the remote, if you have that option. Check also the settings of brightness/contrast/sharpness/color. If you still have problems, please call in a qualified service technician.
This tv is a lower end of the LCD tv.The problems u have is the major board of the tv,the tv Tuner signal board, this board is the board where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites Like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement,if u have some machanical kills like taking things aparts and putting it back together again. The repairs shops prices, might cheap might not.Must take ur tv to like two or three shops getting diffrence estamates from those shops.Shop for a same tv model a new LCD tv compare it to the Shops estamates and u than decide, what action u want to take.
This the common problem for Olevia TV, open up the back cover, locate the power supply board, look for the electolytic capacitors top that is slightly domed, replace them, they usually 1 or 4 that is bad, buy your replacement's at Radio Shack
This is a problem that should be taken in for service as there could be many problems causing the problem. The power supply could not be supplying voltage to run the video card or you could have a failure in the video card itself. Try calling this number for Insignia Customer service help. 1-877-467-4289. I just got a 42" komodo by Sceptre, same problem, except "SCEPTRE" showed on the screen. I was sent a USB key program to insert in the service slot in the back and it reflashes the bios. This is old news for you but maybe new for someone?
