I would have to say that you have bad capacitor in the power supply.Have you taken the TV apart? If you can take it apart, and send some pictures of the board with the power cord going to it,I can tell you which capacitors if any are bad. They have a rounded top to them instead of being flat. Also, how many blinks does the power light blink?Usually it's a series of flashes, and then it repeats.I hope this helps.Thank You very much!

when green light (power) comes on and then goes off, press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons on the front of the set.
The power light will display a error code: for example 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks (this is the most common one) and it will repeat the code about 5 times.
To get it to repeat it you have to unplug set, plug it back in and turn it one and when it fails repeat the check.
Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what may be wrong. I hope it is 2,2 as it is the least difficult to resolve.
Instead of typing model number of your TV (that located on right hand side and on the back of TV) you published here part number of your TV's remote control. LOL. Anyway... If it is LCD/plasma panel that you talking about - than power supply have bad electrolytic capacitors that have to be replaced. You can recognize 'em by bulged/swollen tops (instead of flat tops of good capacitors). This repair required soldering skills.
Basically, the TV is trying to power up the screen. If it fail to do so, the TV will automatically turn itself off to protect other part from being damaged inside.
The problem is going to be the Backlight Inverter Board. It's the circuit board that supplies power to the screen. You can usually find a replacement board at a good price at Shopjimmy.com
This TV probably needs the convergence amp IC's replaced. When they go bad the TV will not turn on.Call a good TV Tech and tell him you want the IC's upgraded to STK 392-150 instead of the original STK 392-120 and check all resistors in the circuit for proper value. They could be burned or open.
I'm not sure what TV model you have. But, thing I can tell you is the most common problem.
Most of the time with flat panel TVs, the power supply for the screen fails. And the TV normally turns itself off to protect other parts in the TV from being damaged. Basically " Protection Mode".
You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself; then try again turning it on. If it doesn't work after that, it's time for the TV repair shop.
