Needle keeps jumping back 4 bars on records

Every time i play certain records they needle jumps, its not actually the needle as i have swapped it with new one thinking it could be the tone arm or height settings for the tone arm...any suggestions?? please!!

I believe someone mentioned that the anti-skate should be set the same as your counterweight. Unless you're a scratch DJ. then it should be set at zero.
Could the problem records be damaged or warped? Sometimes very small imperfections in a record's surface can cause needles to skip. You could try running the needle a little heavier. Maybe loosen the head shell and twist just barely counterclockwise and re-screw it back down. This gives the stylus a little more bite and may keep it from skipping back. Another idea maybe loosen and readjust the bearings on the tonearm assembly with a small flat head screwdriver.
The reason the other person's answer mentioned having the cables replaced is because sometimes people put the assembly back together and forget to set anti-skating where it should be and it ends up constantly pushing the tonearm out. If that is the case, I explain how to fix it here :http://www.fixya.com/support/t10831123-needle_skiping_back_stop_changed_hight . If you are handy with tools, it's not that hard. But you might give this a try just pull the tonearm with your hand to the center kind a hard and see if it clicks that may fix it.
another thing to try is a cleaning product called Gruv Glide. This stuff is awesome! It makes old records sound almost new again and really helps with tracking issues. Just make sure you do not spray it on the record. It comes with easy instructions.

anyone wanting to do repair work on it technics 1200 series motor board should check this out. It perfectly diagnosis problems and has replacement part numbers http://www.deckdoctor.com.au/TECHNIC%20SL1200%20PCB.pdf

My need on my turntable jumps around on my records

If it keeps sliding in one direction, it probably needs an anti-skating adjustment or to be put on a level surface. If it jumps all over, the stylus weight is probably too light or the surface it's on isn't stable enough.

Needle breaking

it's very possible that when the needle hit the hoop that it caused the needle bar to jump time
I would suggest that the machine be taken to a sewing machine shop to be checked to see for sure if it is the timing or something else since the needle is also hitting the throat plate

I have a Panasonic pll multiplex circuit and when I put a record on it skips a lot. I have another record player at my other house and it has an adjustable weight on it, and I am thinking that that's...

Most likely needs a new needle. Try needlelady.com or needledoctor.com Modern record players usually track at 2 to 4 grams of pressure. Thats about as much as a penny weighs maybe. Putting more pressure on it, will only cause it to destroy your records or sound bad. Weight adjustment is usually a very fine spring or counterweight that adjusts on the tonearm. Linear units use optical sensors to keep the tonearm aligned, but use traditional counterweights to control force. You need a gram scale made for phonos to properly adjust it. Radioshack USED to sell them 30 years ago, but most times you can just use a guess if the needle only slightly deflects when placed onm the record your usually good. If it's simply jumping and sliding across the record then the needle is shot. Even diamonds don't last forever,. as they are synthetically produced.

Technics Tape Deck RS-M227X. VU needles jump to the maximum right

More than likely the pre-amp IC has failed! Trace the wires from the VU meters back they should locate the source of the problem. Remember it will be something common to both channels!

The needle on the needle keeps jumping up and doun and doesnt seem to be charging.

It sounds like a defective alternator regulator, stator, or diode trio. Its probally better to get a rebuilt alternator.

Jumping a stitch

There are several possibilities. The timing may be off, the hook/needle clearance may be off, the needle bar may need adjusting, the needle may not be inserted correctly, the fabric you are sewing through may have a gummy residue on it which is causing the thread to stick to the needle. I would change the needle first and make sure It is positioned correctly(long grove to the left) and inserted all the way up.
