The problem is the timer has failed. This is easy to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru the replacement. You can also enter in your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions.

Asko 12005 washing machine vibrates and banging on side when spinning

The load has become unbalanced. Pause the machine in mid-cycle (do not Stop it) and when it ceases spinning, open it and re-distribute the load evenly. Then press Pause again to continue the cycle. Note: if you Stop it, then restart when finished balancing, the machine will start washing from the beginning instead of continuing from where you Paused it.

I have a Whirlpool Gold washer (MOD# GSQ9669LW0). The washer makes a grinding noise below when in operation. Spins when agitating, but not in rinse mode. Water still pumps out in final spin.

This machine can get items stuck in the drum, the bearings can go bad etc. https://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Washing-Machine/38-5-620929-/Whirlpool-Washer-won-t-spin-GSQ9669LW0.

Washing machine will agitate on spin cycle instead of spinning. All cycles work fine, fill, wash/agitate, drain, fill, rinse, drain, but anytime it should be spinning it is agitating instead. Is it the...

Could be, Try any of the online appliance parts stores, Mfg, model possibly year. There is a possibility depending on age that a "reversing switch" is not working properly or connections from or to it are bad. Or possibly the drive motor is not "accepting" the switch's instruction.

My washing machine will drain an spin but will not agitate

There is a good possiblity that the agitator coupler is bad. reach into the machine and try to spin the agitator. If the whole thing spins then you have a bad coupler. Some agitators are a two piece design and the top half is supposed to turn freely one direction and catch the other. if you have that type and the top spins both ways but the bottom stays still you have a bad agitator. To remove agitator, grab the bottom and pull up hard. Its only held on by plastic fingers

Agitator stops while in spin cycle

Assuming that this is a basic Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain washer, the agitator is supposed to stop during the spin cycle.

Please see the following Whirlpool installation and service manual for top load machines.

If you look at the description of how the transmission works, there is an "Agitate Cam" that lifts the "Agitate Gear" out of contact with the main "Agitate Rack" when the machine goes into spin mode

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I have found though that because of the friction between the agitate gear and main drive shaft, including the oil itself, the agitator may move while in spin mode.

End of wash cycle, no draining or spinning, but can move to rinse cycle and it agitates again, no spinning after rinse either

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

The drain and spin functions are started when the timer advances to the spin mode.

The motor is reversible. When agitating, the motor spins one way, when going to the drain / spin mode it reverses.

Since the machine agitates, the problem points to the timer.
