Westinghouse Fridge Freezer Frost Free but is frosting up

Have a Westinghouse Upside Down Fridge Freezer Model BJ414Q-L that is Frost Free but its frosting up around the back of the freezer near the fan and wondering if replacing the seals will fix this problem?

The fridge is about 13 years old and have the checked the seals, they are definitely letting warm in and need replacing. So I will replace the seals but is there anything else I need to do, ie defrost the fridge and will doing these two things fix the problem?

Any help will be appreciated.

I HAVE A westinghouse 100 L frost free upright freezer . It seems that the top part of the freezer is not working as well as the bottom section. . Any help is welcome.

Have you checked for equal air flow? Sometimes letting the freezer defrost completely clears up the problem and clean the dust at the cooling fins while it isnempty and easier to move. Good luck

How do you make a freezer frost free?

Frost free means that the evaporator coil will not accumulate a thick layer of frost. It will not prevent frost from accumulating on the walls of the freezer. To slow down the amount of frost build up inside the freezer, do not keep the freezer door open for any longer than necessary. The freezer door seal may be defective. This would allow moisture in that would freeze on the inside walls. A heater with timed intervals to come on is one way for a frost free feature. But this will not work for frost build up on the inside walls of the freezer. It would only melt the frost and then it would refreeze again.

Sheet of ice forms in bottom of freezer

Frost free fidges are supposed to stay frost free because the automatically defrost regularly. When they do this they may drain water down to the bottom of your fridge. Look for a tray that catches this water underneath the unit. Make sure yo keep it emptied. If you live in a very warm climate you may be getting a lot of humidity inside. There may be a switch that you can change for lower moisture.

Frost build up in a frost free freezer

It could be the door gasket. It could also be that the fridge needs a good defrosting. (especially if it is an older fridge)

When I bought my house I had the same problem with the fridge that came with the house. I assumed the previous owner had been defrosting it regularly, which he had not.

Eventually I decided to try a full defrost, and my fridge now works like new.

Freezer has frost in back- frig not coolling

You have a defrost parts issue.
Unplug the fridge. Remove the back freezer panel and check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat.
Without a model number I can not tell you where the defrost timer is.

Frost free fridge/freezer - not cold in fridge

The most common problem with refrigerators not cooling when the freezer cooling is the fan which supplies cold air to the freezer. Not easy to get to in most cases. Another problem is the vent to the fridge part is blocked or not operating with the adjustment control.
