The water drop is a condensation warning- the camera has sensed damp in the works. Damp will cause the tape to stick and get tangled in the transport mechanism, so you need to dry the camera (and tapes) out thoroughly before proceeding. Leave them in a warmish dry place for a day or so- longer if needed.
If you have too much dampness, and or mold inside the set on the circuit boards, most likely there is damage.
The cost of servicing may be too expensive in consideration of the value of the set.
