LG GH22 LS50 (Sata Dvd Writer)
Installed this writer in my Pc (Running Windows 7) It seems to read discs fine, but will not write files to dvd discs. Took the drive out of my pc and installed it to my wifes PC running Windows XP and It wrote the disc fine.
Tried different Sata sockets on my pc and different Dvd media, same problem every time. any help would be much appreciated.
P.S Updated Firmware and its still the same.
What software do u use to write DVDs on both PCs...
if they are different then that may be the issue....
dont spoil the DVDs....
try DVD RW disks...that way you can erase them later...
i too have the same DVD writer, not had any issue in either XP or Win7....i have dual boot and have made many movie DVDs using both OS...i use Nero and Power2Go of LG(the install disk that came with the LG DVD writer has this great software...."LG Power tool")
try this tool...it should work...
the inbuilt DVD creator in Win7 has some issues with DVD creation....due to non compatibility of graphics card and display drivers (WDDM)....+ you may not have the correct codec required to burn DVDs.....
get the FFDSHOW codec from google.... and install it...shutdown and restart and then try...

ok...try changing the DVD disk media...use another brand preferably a DVD RW disk....of
also try burning lower data say just 10 mb to begin with...it will tell if you DVD writer is buring data at all or not....
by the way what's the DVD writer in your wife's PC ?
in my experience some of the CD and DVD media disks do not perform well in some DVD / CD writers....
i too had the same issue with Verbatim disks i had this full 100 Cd spindel and i lost about 30 disks like this....
also try use the 'Track at once" insted of "Disk at once" option

I´m having the same problem using gh22ns50. Get to write any dvd rw, not to dvd-r. Process stops at 11%, no buffering, media looks to be brandnew after process, no physical write signals.

Both pc are using Nero (Wifes is V6, Mine V9 also tried a trial version of 10 to see if that made any difference)
No data is being written to the dvd while trying on my pc, but thanks for the Coaster saving idea :o))
I had tried the LG Power tool which came with the writer but same results, although i did use said software for updating the firmware version of the drive to V. TL02
I have installed the FFDSHOW codec, but unfortunally... still the same results from nero.... its the same for .ISO's, Random files to be burnt (MP3), etc etc etc....
