Region Locked Hi we have tried many methods to unlock the above mentioned DVD player, but to no avail , please give us the correct steps if you know them. Thanks

3. Select 'all' in the appearing list for region free
4. Turn the player off

Please follow the instructions below for unlocking your Philips HTS3011

1. Switch on the DVD player
2. OPEN the disc tray
3. Key 9 9 9 9 0 using the Philips remote control supplied with the DVD player
4. Press PLAY. The disc tray will close.
5. Switch the player OFF then switch ON again.
6. To test, play a disc from a region which was previously locked.

If it does not work the first time, switch the player off and back on, then try again.

This is a verified unlock method, but I was unable to confirm whether it works for players sold locked to Region 1 (North America). If you have a Region 1 player and the method above does not work, you will not be able to unlock your player.
Please note: Unlocking a DVD player may invalidate the warranty. Unlock sequences may not work with some firmware updates and some DVD players have been damaged through failed attempts to unlock them. Unlocking your DVD player is done at your own risk.

Most Thomson players are 'hackable', i.e. can be converted to region-free. The hand symbol suggests you are entering the correct code, but that the player may have been 'chipped' or has a different firmware version which disables the unlock method that works on other players of the same model or from other regions.
It's commonly US / Region 1 players that have the region code disabled. As you can't play US DVDs, this isn't a region 1 default player, so this improves the chances it can be unlocked.
I can't really tell you any more as you didn't include the model number of your DVD player. It would also help to know which region the player is locked to and the firmware version of the player - if you can find it. The model number should be on a label the back of the player somewhere and the firmware version may be available in the on-screen menu, under the heading "System Information" or something similar.

3. Press the 4 button on your remote control
4. Press the 0 button on your remote control
5. Press the 3 button on your remote control
6. Press the 9 button on your remote control

and on the system information screen type 1101.
This will add a region setting to the bottom of the list.
Type 0 for region Free or 1-6 to set to a region.

To my knowledge, due to firmware design, most JVC region locked DVD players can not be unlocked with entry codes through the remote. While some JVC models could be unlock with a firmware update or a PC interface neither of which is available for a TH-P3.

Im sorry but thats just it for this model.

Alternately, a long method is to convert/copy the DVD disc itself from any region to whatever region your JVC is locked into. There are freewares just for this purpose. An example is DVD SHRINK 3.2.

I've only heard of some very specific DVD players that are easy to unlock. Hopefully someone has an answer for you! You could also either buy a region free DVD player or you can get software to play the disks back on your PC.

1. Make sure there is no DVD in the drive. The player must be empty. Turn on the player, (the Samsung logo appears)
2. Press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
3. With your remote enter the code: 76884
4. The current region is displayed on the top left corner of the screen. (e.g. 4)
5. Press 9 on your remote (Region free)
6. Again press the SUBTITLE button on your remote
7. Enjoy the Region free player

If your player is NOT Region 4 by default then you will need to Substitute the Numbers in Step 3 with the ones Below.

Region codes:
RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
