Mitsubishi WD-52327 TV won't consistently turn on, new lamp

Bought the TV from a friend a few years ago. He had just replaced the lamp. No issues until finally the lamp failed by breaking after the orange warning light was on for a while.

bought just the bulb (Philips), and while using online instruction i replaced the bulb in the plastic housing (used a lint free cloth to handle the bulb) and put the bulb back in.

It worked fine right away, but later that same day, and everyday since (5 days now) the TV sometimes has trouble turning on. Normally when i turn it on, i hear 2 clicks. Now, when it doesn't actually turn on when i press power, i hear 4 clicks, then the light lamp light blinks green then goes red. I will try it over and over, and it will go on after 1-10 tries.

I would suspect it was the bulb cause this didn't happen with the last bulb, and just started as i replaced the lamp. or could it be just a bad coincidence?

Recommend Phillips, OSRAM, or Mitsubishi original, as others may not work at all or have a very short life.

Hi Brent, Mitsubishi's have a problem with the power supply and the Light Engine which incorporates the Digital Module of which it has to be purchased as a complete assembly. I sincerely believe you should not put that kind of money into a dlp set. The cost of the light engine is in the area of $1100.00. Your last idea is the best one.

I have a mitsubishi wd-60735 tv when i turn the tv on nothing comes on only hear the volume and screen just pitch black?

Did you recently replace the lamp? If you did then it might be the new lamp. I mistakenly bought an aftermarket lamp to replace mine and it would not work consistently. Apparently if it is not an Mitsubishi original lamp it has issues, because after I replaced it with a Mitsubishi lamp it worked perfectly fine.

If you have a voltage meter you can pull the bulb out and check for continuity by placing the probes on the power plugs of the bulb. If you have continuity the bulb should be good, and it may be the lamp ballast.

Mitsubishi wd 52725 lamp troubles

You can use Mitsubishi 915p020010 or Osram E023. Remove the front and clean the lense using only a clean microfiber cloth. dirty lense main cause of dark picture. The lamp could be incorrect wattage.

Buzzing noise from Mitsubishi DLP WD-52327 after replacing bulb

Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

Mitsubishi WD-52327 52 in. Rear Projection DLP

I have a 2 year old Mitsubishi Rear Projection 52" model WD-52525. I recently experienced the same problem as you. My TV quit without any warning and the red lamp light came on. I bought a replacement lamp just like you did, did everything you did too, but it still didn't work either. Since it's past the 1 yr warranty (of course), I took it in to an authorized service center for an estimate. They determined the light engine failed and it will cost me $816.35 to repair. I already shelled out $240+ for a lamp, $48 for the repair estimate and I said "hell" no, I'm not going to fix it for another $800+ and bought a new TV. I'm writing a letter to Mitsubishi expressing my deep dissatisfaction (to put it mildly) with this faulty product and will be requesting reimbursement, which I probably won't get. I sincerely hope this is not the same problem your TV has, but if it is be prepared for a costly fix.
