I have a citizen TV - model #JCTV 32428. I have the remote, however can't get it to program for cable. When i bring up the menu & use the remote to navigate it won't let me into the TV Catv category. How do i get this to work? I know I pressed the wrong button to cause this problem. The remote is a closed caption decoder & has has a small box around 2 buttons marked TV-cap/text &CH1/2

Hell, depending on the brand and model of your universal remote, there are two procedures to program it to work with your citizen TV, first the direct code procedure(list of codes included in the owners manual) or the code scan procedure consisting of pressing certain keys on your remote untill the code that programs your citizen TV is obtained. I suggest going into the website provided by the manufacturer of your remote to obtain both procedures.

You would need to look up how to program that remote to your specific tv. I would look up the owners manual if you dont have it for the remote...and follow the instructions for it. However, you will have to directly use the tv to program it to the cable. The universal remote will only change the channels and volume for you. Use your menu button to bring it up, make sure its set to cable and not antenna, and use your channel + and - to navigate through the menu and vol + to select your option

i cant give u the exact one ull have togo thru these and find the one that works but here nthey are 0002 0502, 0906, 0112, 0512, 0520, 0115, 0701, 0402, 0805, 0407 one of these 4 digit codes should work just keep tryin them until u find the right one hope this helps

Walmart sells alot of universal remotes. Some come in packages of two remotes.
I just bought a set and the book has codes for every brand.

I have the same TV & cannot get into the TV menu to program the cable... it was bought secondhand without the original remote. There are no buttons anywhere on the TV itself to bring up the menu & the universal remote's menu option doesn't do it, either... how do I set the channels?

Programming Your RCA Universal Remote.

The RCA universal remote may already be set up to operate your brand of TV, VCR, or Cable Box. It is pre-programmed with following codes: TV-000, VCR-000, Cable Box-000, and AUX is programmed with VCR code 037. For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.

Programming a Device using Code Search: 1- Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box) 2- Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH 3- Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). I pressed some key on my remote accidently and thereon i have not been able to move to any other channel except adjusting the volume in this one...pls suggest...I do not know if this got locked..

alot of universal remotes dont let you program your tv with them due to how much more mem they would need. you have to use your actual tv remote or do it manually with the tv. sorry
