I have the same problem with both A525 speakers. I did a live chat with Dell support and the tech had me download an updated driver. This did not help. I still have the annoying sound/disturbance problem.I have the same problem with both A525 speakers. I did a live chat with Dell support and the tech had me download an updated driver. I am now waiting for my 3rd set of A525 speakers. First set - only sound out of the left speaker and the sub woofer did not work. Second set only sound out of left speaker. Will it be 3rd time lucky?I am now waiting for my 3rd set of A525 speakers. First set - only sound out of the left speaker and the sub woofer did not work. Second set only sound out of left speaker. DELL has sent me two different systems and both give cracking noise in the left speaker. It looks like the internal amplifier in the subwoofer gives to much power to the left speaker. A design fault by the manufacturer...DELL has sent me two different systems and both give cracking noise in the left speaker. I have the same problem. A week ago I received my new Dell Vostro 220 Computer with the A525 speakers and subwoofer. Immediately upon setting up the system and playing some music, I noticed a crackling sound/disturbance in the speaker system. The problem seems to be with the left speaker. The noise produced by the speaker problem detracts greatly from the quality of sound of the music.I have the same problem. I have a similar problem. You need to open your subwoofer and check if the subwoofers cone cloth is torn. If it's torn you can recone the subwoofer and it will work fine. There are solutions online to fix the cloth using regular synthetic mix cloth but i don't know if it works. Try removing the cloth to see if it sounds better.
Click on Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Volume Control and adjust the Balance slider control to correct the output from the left and right speakers.
Yes, i have a brand new set of DELL A525 Speakers, reply to this solution on FIXYA (ie say you want them) and i will put them on EBay for you to purchase on a (buy it now) so you you can have them straight away, £10 + P&P £2.70 or give me your email on here and we can sort it out that way. (set up a disposable email address or you may get spammed)
It sounds like you blew out the laptop speakers. The cones inside of them may have ruptured and they will not ever sound good. However, the connecton to the speakers may be touching another componet inside the laptop and causing interferance. Also, try unplugging the laptop a listening to sound. If it is better you have a ground issue with your power source.
Try another speaker set. If this does not fix it, then consider the sound card if it is removeable, get a new one. If it is internal, turn off the sound and install a sound card.
It sound like you have a break in the main wire from the computer sound card to your speaker amp OR the plug is not plug in completely plugged in all the way. Try some other speakers or ear buds / head phones to isolate sound card problem or speaker problem.
only sound in 1 speaker.
