Analog Power Saving Mode

I went to reboot my husband's computer and instead just turned off the power and now he can't get it to turn back on. When he restarts it, it will run for about 2 minutes and it say's something about analog power saving mode and then goes dark. He tried switching the monitor power to "never" but now if it does go past the 2 minutes the system freezes up. He's trying to reboot into safe mode and is having trouble doing that. Could it be the graphics card and how would just turning it off mess this up?

My LG flatiron W1943TB turns on, says analog power saving mode, goes black and then the power button flashes.. but the monitor is hooked up to my dell notebook bc my LCD died

Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.

Analog power saving mode

If its going to analog power saving mode, that is what its supposed to do when it does not get a recognizable connection from a computer vga port. I would suggest coming back on with some more information about your computer and suggest testing another screen on your pc.

"Analog going into power saving mode" when I try to play a game.

Most of these kinds of problems are created by using the different version than the current version of your video card driver.

Check your video card company's website and download the specific video card driver for your devide's ID and It should resolve the proble,

Monitor shuts off during boot. Let the machine boot full up, hit the power button, the monitor flashes windows for a split second, and goes back to power saving mode

Hey there Celius,

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' somehow got set too high for the monitor. On flatscreens , the result is a black screen.

If you have an old monitor (crt type) hook that up temporarily and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back monitors and try it now.

Good luck
Mike
