If this problem occurs only at this dvd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a dvd cleaner set, a wet one for better results. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alchohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. That way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush".

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

When I insert a dvd the player tries to read the disk and then comes back and displays no disk

try playing a disc that you know it has played before. if it does play other dvds then your problen is that it cant read the format in wic dat specific disc u are inserting in there. if it doesnt ready any dvds then insert a music disc in there, if it does play it then u got to change the lens. there is also the possibility then the motor spinning the disc might have gone bad as well so when changing the lens, it is advisable to change the whole lens mechanism.

Blu Ray player turns on, displays "Welcome on the screen. After disc is inserted, "Wait" appears on the the screen and then it freezes. What is wrong?

This sounds like your Sony player is not reading the disc.
I have bought faulty DVD discs before that have given this same fault!
- I assume you have tried a disc that you know works in another DVD player?
Remember, your Sony Blu-Ray should be able to play ALL REGIONS of standard format DVD discs, so you should get sound & images from any one you choose.

My NAD cd/dvd T550 displays NO DISC.

I have the same problem. When I insert a disk, my NAD T 550 DVD player displays 'No Disc'. It started with new disks while still reading older disks, but at some time it stopped recognizing any disk. Did you receive any suggestion yet or has anyone a suggestion?

DMR-EH75V DVD Recorder

ekimt,

Yes, it would not recognize any type of disc. The disc icon was always present on the display even though no disc was inserted. Also, mine went out while recording from HDD to DVD. Panasonic had mine repaired in two business days and it' s working great.

Player Does not play any type of Disc

Press case lid where it attaches to player. If this makes unit react you have a defective lid switch. You can probably put some weight over it to hold lid down and it will operate. Otherwise switch must be repaired
