Hi - I'm having a problem with my Samsung LN-R409D LCD TV, and I'd appreciate insights on which part needs replacement.
You can see an image of the problem at:

Basically, there are horizontal snow lines going across the display, regardless of the video source. In the image, you'll see that the "Component 1" overlay in the upper left corner is not distorted, which suggests to me that the LCD panel itself is operational (ie, a faulty display shouldn't distinguish between data originating from a video signal vs an on-screen graphic). The snow lines occur consistently in the same position.
Any assistance would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The set is under a year old and is under warranty. The LVDS cable inside these sets have a history of coming loose. The problem could be the panel. Either way, the set is the problem and needs to be looked at. This set is worked on in the home and does not need to be taken to a shop, so, you can still use it. Contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG Hope this helps.

as the top is ok and the bottom has this issue.
It looks like the circuit board has a bad connection to your screen.
it is not repairable by you and not an adjustment.
you need to have it repaired.
don't you miss the old wack on the side fix?

Press the menu on the TV and let me know if the menu is effected. If the Menu if effected , you can try unplugging the power cord for a minute and replugging it back. If the issue still persists , a physical diagnostic is necessary to determine the exact defective part on your device. It could be a problem of main board or even worse, the panel.

The main board may cause this problem. If it wass happened when you play DVD, so the main board needs replacing.
