It green screens after 10 mins

my freind i think it is not a problem.maybe it is from the device connected with tv hdmi try another device or go to system setting of the device to change the video format(try 1080i)

my tv turn off in about 3 min. and will not come on for 15 min.

This is a graphics processor unit (gpu) fault, the console will need stripping down and new heatsink compound applying to the chip,this is basically the same fix as rrod, so there are plenty of free guides on youtube, if you want to tackle this yourself.

Hi, how is the cable box hooked up to the TV? Is it HDMI cable or componet (red/green/blue) ? When you say totally green, do you mean the the picture is only green with the other colors missing or every color looks green ?

I had identical problem which continued for months before the screen started to get dim then went completely black with only the audio remaining. This will happen when the lamp and or balast board starts to fail. You can buy replacement lamp off the internet and install it using only a screw driver. Your Sony manual provides instructions. Don't buy any of those cheap off brand lamps; light output might be low.

Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. Power on both CPU and monitor. After it turns itself off, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. I used to check my LCD monitor and could see window image using flashlight and found out that Some of CCFL lamps inside were broken. The lamps are very easily replaced. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so.

I had the same problem but I solved buying "Laser Lens Cleaner " Philips Magnavox after 3 attempts the DVD starts to work fine again. First only 3 min, then 10 min and now the entire CD cleaner and after I left the CD cleaner for 15 min I tried to play the DVD and WORKS!!! perfect!!!
