I had the same problem with one of mine. The problem was that the Main Coil Component on the board had come loose. I think it was never soldered in place. Just glued. I glued it back but now it keeps cutting out. I need to solder it but don't have the right equipment.
Anyway, I think its a manufacturing issue they have. The way I found out was. I took it apart and started lightly tapping on the electronic components while the speaker was engaged. When I hit the large coil the base came on. Then I turned it off and grabbed the coil and it fell off the board. It is fixable though.
These have a crossover inside as well as a fuse. If it is blown the link is gone and only the horns will work.
