Video Label The video label that appears when you change inputs and normally then disappears, no stays on. Even when I change from input to input, the label does not fade. Any thoughts?

Page 18 of the manual, you shouldn't need to do steps 2 or 3.

CONNECTING A COMPONENT SOURCE WITH HDMI or DVI CAPABILITY TO INPUT 1 or INPUT 2
1.Connect the HDMI or DVI to HDMI connection cable from the output of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the HDMI input as shown on the AVC Center below.
2.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT R of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/R) jack.
3.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT L of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/L) jack.
4.Press the INPUTS button, then select INPUTS 1 or 2 to view the program from the HDTV set top box or DVD player. The VIDEO OSD label disappears automatically after approximately four seconds.
5.Select ANT A or B from the INPUTS menu to return to the previous channel.
NOTES:1. Completely insert the connection cord plugs when connecting to rear panel jacks. The picture and sound that is played back will be abnormal if the connection is loose.
2. The HDMI input on INPUT 1 or 2 contains the copy protection system called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is a cryptographic system that encrypts video signals when using HDMI connections to prevent ******* copying of video contents.
3.HDMI is not a "NETWORK" technology. It establishes a one-way point-to-point connection for delivery of uncompressed video to a display.
4.The connected digital output device controls the HDMI interface so proper set-up of device user settings determines final video appearance.

Please try this procedure on how to connect your DVD player to your TV..


Follow this instructions:


1. Check the back of your DVD player. It will have up to three different types of outlet connections enabling it to be linked to the TV. The most ideal is an HDMI connection, which is a thin rectangular outlet marked "HDMI." It provides the highest quality signal to your flat panel TV. If your DVD player doesn't have an HDMI outlet, you can also use a standard RCA outlet. This consists of three round cable jacks labeled with a color coding. The yellow jack is for the video signal while the red and white jacks are for audio signals. Some DVD players may have an S-video outlet as well. It will be a circular jack with a number of holes. While not as effective as the HDMI jack, it provides a clearer picture than the RCA cables.

2. Look at the back of your flat panel TV for a series of "In" jacks corresponding to your DVD player. There may be a number of them under different labels (Input 1, Input 2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and Component Video are common). All of them work, however, and all can carry the DVD signal into your TV. Simply select an "In" jack that matches the DVD outlet you have selected and note the precise label.

3. Connect the "In" jack from the TV to the corresponding outlet on the DVD player, using the proper cable (RCA, HDMI or S-Video).

4. Turn on the TV and press the input button to select the jack connected to the DVD player. (The exact label for the input button will vary by model. Some will say "Input," while others will say "TV/Video" or "Signal.") A menu should pop up onscreen giving you a list of jacks in the rear of the set. Select the jack connected to the DVD player. The name of the player brand should appear on your screen.

5. Place a DVD in the player and watch as normal.

'Aux' is a general label for any Line Level analog stereo input like DVD, VCR, TV, DBS, etc. They are usually electrically identical and interchangeable except for PHONO.

V-Aux on this unit is on the front panel for conveniently connecting a video device. It has analog and assignable digital audio plus S-video and composite video.

There is nothing labeled 'Aux' on this unit.

Try these:

1. Press MENU on the remote control
2. Select Settings
3. Highlight Setup
4. Select Label Video Inputs
5. Select Video 7
6. Select None if available or
7. Leave the label blank

Go into the menu on the TV and go to the far right under setup. Select "video label" then select "program". A menu will come up listing the 7 inputs. Make sure that the input you are using for your PS3 is not set to "skip". While you're there, set any of the other outputs you're not using to "skip". Your TV/Video button will only cycle through the ones that aren't skipped. Have Fun!

You need Sony TV remote and press Display button and screen display (green label) will disappear.

if your on input "video 7" but there is no picture, this is normal. however if you have a picture and video 7 remains on the screen,then on the original remote there's a button labeled "display" press that. video 7 should disappear

My Sony KP-53XBR200 will not display any video (even from the tuner) except the internal display until it sees a video input on one of the video jacks on the back after a power hit.

I solved this by putting a video cable from Monitor out to Video 4 in (unused for other video). Voilla! Instant video on. This may not be your issue, but it fixed my set!

Go into the setup menus IE:Video,Audio etc: The last page has the video label option. It is there where you select the label you want to give such as VHS,Beta,DVD etc. You can also select SKIP and that is why you can't access those inputs. Select any label besides SKIP and your issue will be gone.
