Begin with your headset turned off. Then, press and hold the answer/end button until the indicator light is solid lit in blue. It is in paring mode. Now, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a while, the BT-350 should appear on-screen. Select it and make the application proceed. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing proces is successful, the headset should enter stand-by mode. The pairing process is timed. If you fail to complete it, you'll have to start it over, from the phone turned off phase. Once paired, whenever both your headset and your phone's bluetooth radios are turned on, they should connect to each other automatically. Otherwise, just press the answer/end button, and the link should be done again. In this case, it might be prudent to place the headset in your ear and check if the voice channel has been actevated (you can actually hear it). If so, either press the answer/end button again, or turn your phone off (i.e. just put it in stand-by), and make sure the voice channel has been cut off. The bluetooth connection will still be in stand-by.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.

Cheers! Carlos

My iPhone 4 bluetooth won't discover the plantronics 220 Bluetooth earpiece for pairing. Both devices are on including bluetooth on my phone

On your phone, make sure bluetooth is turned on (settings, general).

While your phone is in discovery mode, turn your bluetooth device on and put it in discovery mode ***(usually you have to hold the power button for 7-10 seconds)***

Your phone will find the device, and you will be prompted to enter the devises PIN number (often 0-0-0-0). Your phone should pair with the device then.

I purchased an iphone 4 and my plantronics explorer 390 will not work with it. help!

I am not sure how to access the bluetooth settings on the iphone, but I can tell you it is likely an icon or menu item in the settings area. Make sure your earpiece is fully charged (usually about 2 hours). It sounds silly but it can make a difference. Enable bluetooth on your iphone and set it to discovery mode (again I do not own an iphone but it is generally the same for all models). It should say something to the effect of "searching" on the phone. Then hold down the button on the earpiece for about 5 seconds or until it stays lit. If you are prompted for a code try 0000. That is the default for most devices. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Trying to pair my HTC EVO to plantronics explorer 233 Bluetooth headset

Had the same problem and called Plantronics. They reminded me about putting the earpiece in "Discovery Mode" by holding down the button when turning it on until it flashes blue/red. Then have the EVO scan for bluetooth devices. It found mine right away.

Discovery mode

If you mean pairing, then hold the button down until both red & blue lights flash. If your bluetooth transmitter is in paring mode too, it will connect up. Note that the headset must be off before you begin.

How do I place my earpiece into discovery mode.

To place the plantronics in the pairing mode, simutaneously press the volume up (+) button and the Call Control button - for about 2 seconds.
Pairing mode is confirmed by LED flashing Red then blue.
You have a minute to pair it with your device.

My iPhone 3G does not discover my Motorola H500.

Try this link. It solved my issue www.scribd.com/doc/280088/motorola-h500-bluetooth-earpiece-manual. Basically what you need to do is power the earpiece off. Make sure that your IPhone is not currently attempting to discover bluetooth devices (i.e. Bluetooth is OFF). Hold the On button on your earpiece (it has the symbol of a phone on it) for 6-10 seconds. The light on the earpiece remains lit. Now your earpiece is in discovery mode. On your IPhone, go to Settings, General, Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth ON. Now your phone and your earpiece are both in discovery mode. When you see "Headset" listed, select it and enter the password "0000". Your IPhone is now paired with your H500 headset.
