D52W26 I need a replacement plexi for the front of my 52" unit, where do I get one. Thanks

It can be replaced if you can find it the screen. It is not that hard, you just have to be careful.

I see two possiblites your flyback tranformer has failed and with it your horzital output transitor has shorted. most technicians can replace these. IS the spark in the front or back of tv. if it is in the front this is a tube. as a tech i would first identify what compnents are sparking. also this could be a capacitor shorting cause a burnt curcit board

sensors are turning the unit off to prevent internal damage

try to inspect the convergerce power supply and the convergence output module for cold solder joints around the mos fets...i had seen many of them on the same condition.

You should call a few TV Repair shops. They will have a few of these TV's junked for parts. They will sell you a screen for cheap.

If the picture looks fine without it then yes you can use a piece of plexi or lexan without a proble. It is only for protecting the expensive screens behind it.

Yes the D52W20 and the D52w26 are both ITC222 chassis they are exactly the same

the inside screens for this tv is screen assmbly rca part number 258513.. the outside plexi is known as the "supersheild" rca part number 258797

the front protective screen in which rca calls a supersheild. can be replaced quite easy. it cost u bout 70 dollars. a cheaper solution i have heard of is to replace the screen with a thin plexi glass. thats if the internal screens have not been damaged.

the outer screen on these units easly replaced. RCA #258797 their called supersheilds.. rca charges about 70 dollars for the item...If it is just that i have seen people just use a clear sheet of plexi. removeing the screens requires removein several torx 20 screw around the outer and remove the frame.. then the clear peice of plexi is attache with serval brackets.
